Who is Saban's replacement?

That's fair, but has anyone been able to recruit great at Washington? Recruiting is a lot better easier at Alabama than it is at Washington.

I agree. He's only had four seasons as an HC at the FBS level (and no more than two at one program) so I would say we really don't know much about his recruiting chops, good or bad. Getting Penix out of the transfer portal was pretty strong, but it helped that he had worked with Penix at Indiana.

I think this problem would largely solve itself if he had quality assistant hires with SEC ties.

I plan to watch "Gunsmoke", "The Rifleman", then "Tales of Wells Fargo".

When I'm through watching those three shows, I want to know who Coach Saban's replacement will be. I'm a patient person, but whoever is hired better be an OUTSTANDING Coach, Leader, Offensive and Defensive minded person with an awesome knowledge of X's and O's! Oh, he must be very proficient in RECRUITING, NIL, and dealing with the PORTAL.

Sure hope there's an announcement tomorrow.

Some great TV shows there. I like westerns too.

Currently in CFB, the two roles - GM and HC - are the same guy. What's to stop us from changing that paradigm?
I hadn't thought of this but immediately loved it when I read this; but then my style is to love almost any divergent thinking.

Makes a ton of sense if your program can afford both a top tier HC and top tier GM...

That's true relative to almost anywhere, though, right? But we're talking keeping up with Texas and Georgia and that won't be easy.

Dabo is getting a hard time, but Clemson wasn't a recruiting powerhouse until he made them into one.

Places like FSU, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Texas, and Alabama, they are the places that consistently brought in top tier recruits.

The issue there is you kind of want to see proof of concept. So if we see Sark at #3 we go well we know he can recruit. That's one reason Lanning stood out, yes he has help from Knight but recruiting well in Oregon is still noteworthy. Norvell is doing alright, not great but in 2024 he's got the 10th ranked class but then again it's FSU. Dabo is 12, which I still contend is pretty good for the state of South Carolina.

But, when you get to Lane at 20, or Washington way down at 36, you have to go we sure that's going to translate? It's not a sure thing, the only guys that seem like sure things have consistently pulled in high ranked classes.

"Chris Low said on Sirius XM channel 84 that the two candidates he’s hearing the most of is Norvell And Deboer. He also mentioned Locksley and Rees as guys that will interview"
Locksley and Rees; you can't be serious Clark?

If one of these two gets hired I cannot imagine the preferable "gasp" coming out of Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas.

I dont know about Norvell...........dont want Locksley or Rees either
