JessN: Assistant coach hiring tracker...

On offense I would swap out for new ones. On defense, I would keep most of them. CKD has to know he will need to play more defense in the SEC. See how well A&M and Mizzou weathered the transition from the Big 12...
Missouri has weathered it way better than Texas A&M has.

Who do you think the DC will ultimately be?

Well it depends...I think deboer like morels but is probably aware that he's a bad scheme fit and recruiting needs a big boost right now. The careful language i keep seeing is morell in SOME role.

Our roster is built to run a specific type of defense and scheme fit has to be considered. Both up front (3-4 personel)

And on the back end (split field coverage/pattern matching) if we wanna keep being NFLU we gotta keep that. NFL teams now either run sabans ryoe coverages or vic fangios. Its why our dbs have been so valuable to NFL teams and so quickly successful.

Saban knows this, I'm sure he doesn't want to step on toes, but I can't see him making it clear to Deboer thus may be the most important hire he can make.

I think best case scenario is we pull TRob back somehow

Next best is bringing in Parker from Iowa (has worked on saban staffs at Toledo and MSU) this is what I think is most likely

DJ durkin is also a possible option and any concerns id have had about him went away when we needed to get someone who can recruit and run this system. Im confident he will end up on staff in some way.

Strong isn't a bad option, but I haven't heard is name much.

Wouldn't rule out Roach or Bala getting a look for it, but I haven't heard much about Bala the last few days.

Schulman is a pipe dream but id love it (bama guy so you never know)

Zach Arnette may be a name to keep in the back of your mind if everything falls through.

If I were betting right now Parker may be the guy with a co/DC named somewhere on staff.

Agree with all of this. Morell would not be a good hire at all.

I think Bond is gone, and I think he was always looking for a definitive reason out. Could be wrong but that’s looking like the case.

I think alot of players went from pure excitement when KD addressed the team to pure shock when Trob announced he was leaving. I think there was alot of hard feelings and feeling that they (players and coaches) didn’t get assurances that they were instantly expected to have had. I think we are seeing KD now going around personally addressing those concerns because he is done with the circus of the announcement and talking to the media. So look for things to start to settle down.

I have got to stop reading KD as Ken Darby
🤦🏼‍♂️

I think it’s too far into the process, and all you can do is ask the agent of Bond (yes he just hired one) what the price is and pay your best. If he takes it then great, but if he doesn’t load up on Downs and Ryan Williams with the money you were willing to pay Bond.

He signed with an agent? Can you do that now...?🤔

UPDATE:

Added Kurtiss Riggs to the off-field list. He is head coach of Sioux Falls' IFL team and a longtime friend/confidant of DeBoer.

Also, I'm told one of the AU 24/7 site's writers is now mentioning Travaris Robinson as the possible next DC. We can't call that one yet but like we said in the original post, you shouldn't consider the news of Robinson to Georgia as final yet.
