I had a total hip replacement on Wednesday. Been on Oxy for pain management.

Last night I dreamed we won an EE game for the first time to go to the final four.
Hope you get well soon man.

Oh and it's real!!! We are West Regional Champions!!!

Oh and now that I think about it...

Since we beat #1 North Carolina and #6 Clemson back to back..

Are we ACC Champs now too? 😅

After we beat UNC, I was loud. I was cheering. I was over the moon elated. Last night I was quiet. My wife in the other room thought we had lost. Not sure why I was quiet. But I was.

Bucket lists are underrated. My list doesn’t have many. But this was one. It was one out of my control, but it was on the list.

And as it came through, I thought about my Dad. He loved Bama Hoops. He loved CM. He loved Wimp. Anthony Murray was his favorite player. Cliff Windham was another. He thought Whatley was a hot dog. But loved Keith Askins. Loved Chuck Davis. He had hopes for Hobbs, and tolerated Gottfried. My Dad left left us in 2010, one month after he saw Saban’s first at Bama.

He would have loved Oats. He would have totally and completely Loved this team. He would have loved Sears. Loved Pringle. But, I think Rylan would have been his favorite. A kid that hugs his coach like a little kid. A kid who loves and adores his teammates. A kid who fired daggers last night to stem the run.

Lots of those thoughts channeled through my head as the last “minute” seemed to take forever. When the clock reached about 10 seconds, I was finally confident that it was true. Checked off my bucket list.

then I smiled. Looked at my Dad’s picture over my desk. And cried a little.

RTR. Win or lose. We’ve already won. I know I have.
Beautiful, CC. Thanks so much for sharing.

In all seriousness, I see many of you referring to your late fathers and how they would have rejoiced in this.

When the clock hit 00:00 last night my phone rang and it was my 80-year-old dad calling to say "Roll Tide!"

I'm thankful he was able to see it!
Me to Moon. Enjoy that moment. It’s precious.

I’ve seen several people post stuff around these lines. There was a guy on Reddit that posted a screen cap of a text from his 73yr old dad. It said he’d been a Bama basketball fan all his life and never thought he’d live to see this.

I think an argument could be made that this was bigger achievement than any of the CNS championships. First NCAA tournament was 85 years ago. This is our first final 4...

I too have a dad who is passed; would have been 75 this month. While he was much more of a football fan than basketball, he still enjoyed it. He would have loved this as well.

As it has already been said, you folks with dads still around, cherish every single second.

As for the game… well maybe it is a bit like the 1980 Olympic hockey tournament. We can win this game.

My dad is 87, a few weeks from 88, and I knew there was no chance he stayed up for the game last night. His coffee maker is set to brew a pot for him and mom at 4:30 am. I set my alarm for that time so I could call him and be the first to tell him that Alabama, yes, our Alabama, was in the Final Four. During my visit this afternoon I pulled up the game so we could watch it together. Somewhere during the second half he says: "if I'd known it was going to be this good, I'd have stayed awake." To which we both busted out laughing - cause there's no way. He was a pretty good hoopster in his day, so he says. :ROFLMAO:

We really need to beat UConn so we can shut some of these Auburn people up. They seem to think that we just had the easiest path ever to a final four, despite beating a #1 seed. If anything, UConn had an easier path than us. To hear them say it, UConn is just going to run us out of the arena, so we need to beat them so we can watch their heads explode. Saturday couldn't come any quicker.

You’ll never convince people who think like this. Still, yes, let’s beat UConn.

That little brother syndrome is coming out of them again.

The team that beat the team that beat Auburn lost to UConn. They blew their chance. That's all you have to say to them.
