to me personally… I think Huff is the bigger fish in the equation. But i doubt we get him without Grubb.
So assuming we land both Huff and Grubb. Sheridan and Coach Kap reassigned or let go? My thought would Sheridan moved to TE and Ellis let go. With Kap, it would be hard to say.

The other question is where do we go if Grubb says “no”? Stand pat with Sheridan?

So, Ryan Grubb could be fired this weekend.... Lot of chatters toward him. Gotta see if we get the OL guy as well.
While I haven't applauded the amount of buddies DeBoer has hired, Grubb undeniably was part of his success in Washington and these were his first choices for the positions so I'd be happy with either. I think the staff needs a bit of a shakeup on the offensive side so I'd be pleased with changes at those two positions either way.

I haven't been cheer-leading for Sheridan, but I'd hope in his case that he was just removed from play-calling duties, but retained co-OC title. He might be a bit overpaid as the TE coach but I'd prefer that bridge not be burned. All I really wanted though was an alternative for play calling duties on the staff.

Considering the new NCAA rules essentially allowing unlimited coaching staffs, the only thing stopping that would be finances or desire from either party.
it’s the latter that I’m concerned about. Word has been for 2 years that Grubb’s wife has nixed the deal. Huff seems to be just a person that wants to stay with Grubb.

I’m told that CKD will be bringing on as either an analyst initially, or an on field ,role a longtime buddy who is considered an innovative offensive mind. Highly successful career, but he's never coached in colllege!

Deboer has a track record of being very loyal to coaches and vice versa. Moving on this quick seems telling for me. But we will see as the real stories come out.

Our defense got a lot better when chuck morell took over linebackers. Kane would have only given that up if he needed to take the entirety of the coordinator duties. Thats my initial take, and a total assumption.
I think it means no reason to wait around if they already have a replacement plan in-house. Make the move, see what the portal fallout is from it, if any, and still have time to adjust before spring practice.

If it's true what someone else said about him being the top recruiter in the country (was unable to find those rankings), then I think we'd try to find a way to keep Kap on staff somewhere. At least I would hope so.

I would welcome him for sure. He's a great playcaller. However, we can't just discount how much it sucks when you live somewhere you don't want to live.
It may not be Grubb himself because coaches are greatly insulated much of the time anyway, it may just be a member of his family.
