Not what we were talking aboutI don’t have any issues with what they’ve done with Simpson this year.

Actually, they’ve done most of their egg-laying against non-quality opponents.I admit Ty Simpson & our offense had our moments, chances too win this game, buttttt, The Sooner's pretty much manhandled our offense & imposed their will on us on defense choking us out..
Just like against FSU, I thought we simply had bad game planning from the start, with even worse effort against Oklahoma, you simply can't play from behind against a defensive minded HC like Venables..
I may get blasted & thought our coaching staff laid another egg, against another quality opponent & that's becoming a trend under this coaching staff..
We're a one trick pony type of offense..
I don’t necessarily fault him for the lost fumble. He was beginning his throwing motion, so the ball was in a precarious position.Ty has had numerous fumbles causing turnovers this year. His turnovers finally LOST the game for us. Like it or not!
Durkin is the same type of guy, and AU will have had three weeks to prep for us. Durkin is auditioning for the full time gig, and we have become a team that can only score in the low to mid 20s. We've needed two absolute miracles to escape with wins down there in 23 and 21, and those Aubie teams were awful. It will be interesting to say the least.Beating the dead horse but… player had to have been lined up within a yard of the LoS for his jump to have been legal. He was lined up in the gap behind the D-line so even if he jumped without touching anyone it was not legal. Venables seems to have adopted a NASCAR strategy- if you ain’t cheatin’ you ain’t trying hard enough, it’s only illegal if you get caught.
Agreed. We got the ball back with like 6min left, and ran the clock out on ourselves, at home, before reaching midfield. It was a deliberate gamble that I did not agree with. Why force yourself to rely on one single 85yd drive.I don’t understand why we were going so slow in the 4th, no need to try and shorten the game when the other team isn’t doing great on offense
That’s a bit harsh. Greg definitely bleeds Crimson. He just tries not to show it. He has a different role than Mark does. I really don’t get all the hate for Greg.Ouch
That says it all.
No former player loves Bama as much as Mark Ingram.
Dude is ate up inside with Crimson. He’s the absolute opposite of McElroy.
Yet he said that.
But… well I mean he’s right.
The pick six Ty threw was a direct result of Formby going out right instead of staying in. The fumble, the de lined up in a wide 9 technique. Set up for a speed rush right around Carrol. Not blaming Carrol, he's a freshmen and doesn't have the experience. Coaching man, coaching.we have not had a legitimately good offense line coach since Stoutland...Well said. Grubb doesn't seem to have any plan. We go take the lead in the second running certain kind of plays. So we get a 1 point lead then he goes to something different, despite the fact OU wasn't stopping what got us the lead in the first place. I don't think he has a plan for any game. It looks like it's just, okay, let's do this, then, okay let's do that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He sure didn't seem to have a plan for tonight.
He didn’t play terribly, but it certainly wasn’t his best game. Even though we almost overcame it, pick 6s are killer and extremely difficult to overcome. He has also got to avoid the strip sack fumbles. It’s been one in each of the last 4-5 games. But if he played terribly we wouldn’t have put up 400yds of offense. No it wasn't ALL Ty's fault but that doesn't mean we can't call out the fact he played terribly.
he damn near ran down the dude that got the pick 6. that was some impressive hustleMichael Carroll is one of the OL'man he brought in and he's already getting playing time as a freshman. For a freshman he's done very well. He's going to be a good one.

This game was lost on turnovers

Yeah, that guy has some serious character and psychological issues.Beating the dead horse but… player had to have been lined up within a yard of the LoS for his jump to have been legal. I mean, here is Greg with his son in a Ty Simpson jersey talking with Ty:
he is right. and he and his teammates lived it in 2010Ouch
That says it all.

Yeah I’ve seen a couple of y’all say that but I just don’t think it’s that bad/real and he doesn’t bother me at all. He is no where near Gary Danielson levels. He praises bama too, yall just ignore it. There is a reason ESPN has him calling what they think is the #2 game of the weekend. Mark Ingram doesn’t call games live. What I meant was Greg goes out of his way to come off as objective to a ridiculous degree.
He can be as obnoxious as Gary Danielson at times because of it.
Mark does not care if he comes off as biased one bit.
He goes out of his way to heap praise all over Bama teams and players to also an almost comical degree.
So for HIM to actually make that comment on social media tells you just how disgusted he was with that type of play vs OU because it was honestly just a putrid performance by anyone not associated with the Defense.
You were talking about Lane being a good quarterback coach. The guys we have here seem to be doing a good job with our quarterbacks as well. Not what we were talking about
I agree with you about Carroll. My point is that he and Deboer’s other OL recruits and most portal acquisitions have the same body type as most of the players he inherited. Proctor and Brailsford are the only outliers. Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you meant.Michael Carroll is one of the OL'man he brought in and he's already getting playing time as a freshman. For a freshman he's done very well. He's going to be a good one.
