BT, how do your guts feel? You consume a some weird stuff. I know I am just a ol'country boy but you have a extreme appetite for things I have never heard of or just wouldn't try.
I am 6' and weigh about 190. My cholesterol level is below 100 (unbelievable isn't it) and blood sugar is normal. I don't exercise a lot other than swimming and fishing. I have been around the block a few times and had the privilege of making friends with people of different cultures than my own. I have been to the orient, Europe, South and Central America, Australia and a bunch of islands.
I don't normally eat bugs, lizards, snakes, spiders, song birds, dogs, cats, mice, rats or carrion eating animals. I do eat snails, squid, eels, mussels, clams, oysters, crawfish, various mushrooms and fungus, various herbs, weeds, seeds, flowers, nuts and fruits.
I read cookbooks, took some cooking classes, wine tasting classes and have eaten in quite a few restaurants who have Michelin Star ratings. I also like roadside food and haven't been poisoned too bad yet. I can usually tell by the smell if the food will be good. I eat a healthy balance of cooked and raw foods, I don't overeat with huge portions of food (occasionally I do). I don't eat red meat every day, I have my own garden, raise my own chickens, raise rabbits and catch my own fish and crabs (crabs are stupid). None of this takes very much time from my day. I bake bread twice a week and there is usually a pot of homemade soup or stock cooking on the stove.
I love to cook and I love to eat. I am not afraid to try new things but I do draw the line in some places. I don't have any medical problems with my digestive tract, ulcers, heart burn or nausea associated with eating. My wife and I are both what are called grazers, we eat several small meals instead of three large meals. My motto is "eat well, eat often and eat in moderation".
