According to the famed New Orleans radio station WWL 870 AM, Ryan Perrilloux has been suspended indefinitely.

Deke Bellavia is reporting that he is not currently on the LSU football team, and that it is not yet known as to whether or not he will return. According to this report he has missed classes and team functions the past few weeks.

Miles was supposed to have a press conference today, but he canceled it this morning.

That's a relief for the entire SEC west. He was about as dangerous a QB as they come. I bet that with all of his behavior issues the LSU fans are not sorry to see him go.

Don't go that far just yet. Suspended indefinitely might mean he is back next week. He's already had three run-ins with the law, and he survived all of that. He may very well survive this too.

There's another thread, which will probably be merged with this one, where an LSU blogger was quoted as saying that some of this may stem from his mother trying to "shake down" the university or something to that effect. Perilloux was also reportedly out of town for a funeral, but if this is the case, I wonder why Les Miles would bother to call a PC and then cancel it.

As I said in an earlier deleted thread today, there is no doubt with all the smoke that stays around this guy there must be a fire!He is not a lightning rod for trouble he is a thunderstorm looking for a place to cause trouble. There is no doubt he has ability to play football, but he has serious issues.

The press conference had been to announce the new special teams coach. I suspect Les, who just returned from vacation, needs to speak with Perrilloux before making any public statements.

I believe you're on to something, red.

I just hope the young men attempting to attend college on football scholarships will look at the situations on the boards today with LSU, UT, and UA football players and decide to stay away from the things and people that can only ruin their chances.

FWIW, I was kicked off of the team during the spring before my senior year. I made it back onto the team during the summer, though.

Sometimes certain players need a wake-up call.

By the way, did LSU ever hire a new Defensive Coordinator?
That was going to be announced today at the news conference. Mallory and Peveto will be co-defensive coordinators.

Apparently Les has finally gotten to talk to Perrilloux. Still no details, but RP is in the doghouse again for missing classes. Seem understandable with a terminally ill father, but we don't know the whole story yet.

I was wondering about that, the local guy here was reporting that his dad had died. Seems like one would have a little slack cut for that. Hopefully the whole story will come out soon.

This is the worst position on the team for a guy with character issues. Not saying he has any, but if he can't get his act together it spells trouble for team unity and leadership.

Or 10.:p_eyes:

His father did die recently...but apparently, he was having these issues before then...like all semester.:p_eyes: Missing classes, team meetings, AND off season workouts.:p_evil:

I'm reserving judgement until we get more facts, but it doesn't look good. LSU does give excused absences for sickness and death in the family.

FWIW, Ricky Jean Francios was suspended indefinitely, and it ended up being the whole season, he came back for the SEC and NC game, but that was academic issues.

Again, I'll reserve judgement until we know more, but at the very least, RP is showing severe bad judgement. How can you be one of the leaders of the team and pull this stuff.

And, does Miles want to invest in him, only to have him screw up and really leave his teammates in a bind in the middle of next season?

Well considerring the fact that LSU has had some great recruiting classes of late; who is next on the depth charts at the QB spot? He can't be too much of a slouch. Probably some 4* or 5* just waiting for an opening just like this.

THAT would be the main concern, to me. The young man obviously has issues. It's a shame to waste all that God-given talent. Hope he gets his act together, before he ends up like M. Vick.

Jarrett Lee...RS Freshman from Texas...then Andrew Hatch, transfer from Harvard...yes THAT Harvard.:p_lol: Jordan Jefferson is the QB that they recruited this season.

You initialized M. Vick...but I would say more like MARCUS that Mike. At least Mike waited until he was already a go-zillionaire before he went completely stupid. Marcus...and apparently RP...couldn't wait long enough to make it worth their while.:p_eyes:
