Bama is in over FSU because..,,

Agreed.

Like it or not, the conference championship really is the only thing a team can play for as it's 100% objective. This subjective nonsense wrt the committee is like the NCAA basketball seedings - it's not really about finding the best team, it's about building an entertainment package.
Maybe that’s good news for us. Both cases favor Bama big time over FSU. The ACC championship was not P5 level college football. It was pathetic.

i'm just going to take this moment to remind everyone here with the amusing irony that this involves Florida State that 30 years ago speaking of precedents, Florida State won a national championship based on these precedents THEY wanted:

1) head to head does not count (only loss was to one loss Notre Dame)
2) the team with the tougher schedule is supposed to be ranked higher regardless of record (one loss FSU was ranked higher than unbeaten West Virginia)
3) not all conferences are created equal
4) it is OK for your players to go on national television and cry to the posters that you deserve a second chance

seriously, it would be the amusing height of laughable irony to see them hanged by the very criteria they wanted.

Has the world stopped spinning on its axis? Heather Dinich actually making the case FOR Alabama?
I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. 🤔

Asteroid must be incoming. Check the skies.

Every metric points to Alabama being in at #4 except FSU being an undefeated conference champ. Strength of schedule, best win, etc.

So will the committee follow the criteria they have laid out and stated over and over?

1) the four best teams
2) if teams are seen as equal, then head to head, SoS, etc are the deciding factors.
3)the best win on the team’s schedule
4) significant injuries impacting the respective team’s abilities going forward

Clearly the logic points to Alabama. But logic does not decide things like this. Anyone that has ever been part of group making decision like this know that many times logic is the very last factor. Politics plays the largest role.

In general, it falls to the path of least resistance and what is least controversial?

And what is the easiest path for this committee? That is what concerns me.

The UGA fans are begging for justice by placing Bama against Louisville in the Orange Bowl..............claim Bama needed gifts to win, and that would be sweet revenge.............I then proceeded to explain that UGA is hanging their hats on Moral Victories because real ones eluded them
I swear that bunch is the most insufferable bunch of clowns I've ever seen!!!!

The other reality is that NO ONE in America believes that FSU is better than the SEC champion. NO ONE.

So why would you put in an undefeated champion of a near G5 conference????? Bama's loss to Texas is probably better than most FL State's wins. Ugh.
I've seen quite a few on sites on Facebook who think FSU should be in. One fan told me their defense would have won for them. I had to laugh.

Their defense is legit, but the only team that they would score a single TD on that made the CFP is Washington. Michigan, Alabama and Texas all have legit defenses which make the Louisville defense look childish.

I decided to check on Danny Kanell. He is not ok

He is a bigger moron than I thought! Look at this stupid nonsense. Travis's leg was broke in half on national tv for crying out loud.

Danny Kanell

@dannykanell

FSU would have been better served to lie about the severity of Jordan Travis injury. Kept door open for possible return. Problem is Mike Norvell and the program are too classy for that type of tactic.
