Game Thread: 2012 NFL Draft Thread

According to some of you guys, a good draft pick is only a guy that played in the SEC. You guys need to start reading and watching more pre-draft coverage.

Come on dude. The only reason you've ever heard of Whitney Mercilus is BECAUSE of pre-draft coverage so don't pretend all these guys are house-hold names.

Congrats to the 4 selected! Tough for Upshaw, but he's shown the attitude I think that will bring success. He'll prove a lot of teams wrong.

And if some of the posters on this board would look at more pre-draft coverage, they wouldn't make comments asking about who players are when the player has been mentioned plenty of times.

This could work out well for Upshaw... The Ravens pick 3rd in the 2nd round. That would be a really good spot for him; lined up on the opposite side from Suggs.

I'd be curious to see the # of "workout warriors" that shine at the combine, but don't play against tough teams and do well in the NFL.

Who do you guys see as being a bust out of this bunch? My guess is Poe from Memphis. Another Mike Mamula workout warrior who didn't do anything on the field to justify the pick.

Alshon Jeffrey didn't go in the 1st.

Kind of surprised. He dominated the pancake-eating contest at the combine.

I think he was out of shape all of last year and it raised flags with the GMs. They generally hate to invest a 1st round pick on a guy with questionable commitment and discipline. Jeffrey has great skills, though.

I'm not trying to pick a fight. Just saying that I watched plenty of draft coverage and never heard his name once. I would wager that most of us on this board (and most college football fans) have never heard of him either. But anyone who watched the BCSCG knows Courney Upshaw
