*** 2013 Fall Camp Thread ***

Hold on!!! Did anyone catch that in the presser?! He's "not at all disappointed" with where the team is?! If I wasn't excited before about this season, I'm definitely excited now. I think Tenpenny finds himself on the field this year. I've been high on him for a minute. And AMARI!!!!! Are they trying to save Yeldon. 6-35? Not bad but he hardly touched the ball. Still a good sign!!!

Did I mention I was excited!!?

He said the same thing earlier in the week.

TJ is known. Why use him when we know what we have? Find out about those younger guys.

Best news of all: no significant injuries.

I fear logging on during this time of year fearing a bad/big injury to one of our stars.

Sounds like CNS is pleased enough to be grouchy about a few things/areas just to be able to get some guys attention!

Sounds like the OL need to get a little fire lit under 'em!

Heck yes - that's amazing. I don't recall him being this positive this early in the fall before. My goodness, this team might be as ridiculous as it appears on paper!

Me either... I was expecting him to be upset. Now he didn't say he was pleased. That's one I did notice, but just for him to say that means a lot. Bad sign for everyone else!

Not to be a downer, but I think everything with CNS is dealing with the psyche of the team; he is from the Belichick school and rarely gives stuff away at a presser. He can't constantly have gloomy outlook. I think he is great at encouraging when he senses some frustration and great at bringing egos into check (his mad presser) when the guys get high and mighty. I don't think it's a good or bad sign what he says in any presser. Imho The most significant things so far in camp are Belue's hamstring and no injuries today. A big positive from camp was also the fact our guys reported in great shape; our highest % I believe of guys that passed the conditioning test.

Just usually this time of the season he just isn't happy. When he says things along the lines of what he said today, you have to smile.

Great point jps. Saban tends to pick you up when your down and get on you when your high. He is teaching lessons to this young team. I think he knows the potential of this team and he is going to get the most out of them both physically and mentally.

Exactly. Watch him on the sidelines during games. When we're winning big, he'll blow up at a minor mistake (think AJ getting spanked for MSU a few years back). When we're in a tight game or losing, he'll encourage, encourage, encourage. Quite frankly, he's a psychological genius of a coach.

Compare his sideline demeanor during the first quarter of TAMU to any point during the Iron Bowl. He usually only blows up when the game is in hand, he won't go nuts on a kid for making a mistake when we're down (which is rare).

You are right. That's what makes him elite and probably top 3 of all time.

Possibly the GOAT!
