Where does any excess money in a candidates account go when they drop out?
What Happens to Leftover Campaign Funds When a Candidate Drops Out?

Here's what a campaign committee is allowed to do with any lingering cash: it can donate the funds to charities or political parties; it can contribute $2000 per election to other candidates; and it can save the money in case the candidate chooses to run again. However, those regulations don't apply to the relatively new super PACs (Political Action Committees); this is only the third election where they have played a role, and there are currently no rules to stipulate what happens to that money beyond that it cannot go to fund another federal candidate. Much of that money tends to be returned to its original donors, used to wrap up the failed campaign, or donated to back a state-level candidate. The goal, however, is always to spend all of that money.

Biden's letter after Bernie dropped out.

Joe,

I’ve had a chance to get to know Bernie over the years. We were in the Senate together before Barack and I took office, and of course, I had known him from his work in the House. What I liked about Bernie was that he said what he believed, no matter who was in the room. I admired his passion. I liked his convictions. I thought people who failed to take him seriously would prove to be sorely mistaken. And, as it turns out, I was right.

Bernie suspended his campaign today, but while you can suspend a campaign, you can’t suspend a movement. Bernie and his supporters have taken issues which had been given little attention and brought them to the center of the conversation. Bernie gets a lot of credit for his passionate advocacy for the issues he cares about. But he doesn’t get enough credit for being a voice that forces us all to take a hard look in the mirror and ask if we’ve done enough.

Jill and I can’t wait to work with him and Jane on building a more progressive future.

Bernie has often said that his campaign was not about him. It was about “us.” That goes for me, too. And now more than ever, that rings true. This primary is over -- but this campaign is just beginning. And it’s a campaign bigger than whose name is on the ballot. It’s a campaign about people like us coming together to not only defeat Donald Trump, but to ensure that America lives up to its founding promises once we do.

We will not defeat Donald Trump by being like Donald Trump. We won’t win with division, cruelty, or appealing to the worst in us. We’ll win with compassion, humanity, humility, and joy. We’ll win by being a campaign that brings Americans together -- a campaign that shows decency, but also determination. A campaign that shows humanity, but also grit. And in the end: we will show the country that a better future is possible. And we’ll show that it is possible because of people like you. You’ve built this campaign, and believed in us -- always.

So I’m going to ask you, in the spirit of gratitude, at this pivotal moment: can you pitch in $5 to this campaign?

Now, Biden needs to chose a good VP. I say it really needs to be someone that can be viewed as the future of the Democratic Party, and is capable of making executive decisions. A Biden victory is almost guaranteed a 4 year reign to undo Trumpism. I don't see a potential 2nd term. So Whitmer maybe his best choice at the current point of time because it pretty much gives him Michigan and possibly Wisconsin. Florida and Ohio are still up in the air.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is leading President Donald Trump by 8 points among voters nationwide, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday.
The survey shows Biden with the support of 49 percent of voters, while Trump trails at 41 percent. The former vice president also leads Trump with key voting blocs, including independents, women and black voters, according to the poll.

Still, the poll shows Trump with his highest approval rating since at least last fall. Forty-five percent of respondents said they approve of the job Trump is doing in office, up 4 points from 41 percent last month and 7 points from his low of 38 percent in October 2019.

Fifty-one percent of respondents said they disapprove of Trump's job in office, the poll found.

Good sign but how can anybody who is paying attention continue to support Tr :poop: mp???????
