I disagree. The MAGA movement (formerly known as the Republican Party) has been very good at pushing its nativist, fearmongering, crisis-of-the-week agenda. White House, Congress, etc. They have a bullhorn in FoxNews to keep the faithful full of unending bile.

Democrats can't seem to govern, nor keep its fringes from going off the rails.

Maine, Michigan were ripe for the picking in the Senate. I predict a loss for Democrats. Ineptitude.

This just proves Will Rogers's maxim: "I'm not part of any organized political party. I'm a Democrat."

November should be a tidal wave for Democrats, but they prove that they can't stop stepping on their Johnsons to save their life.

Actually, the fact that the people seem to be rejecting this extreme leftist view is good news, I think. A more moderate D party is what we need.

Yet there is far more damage being done as we speak. By the people who hijacked the party of Lincoln, TR, and Ike. The malevolent movement that has poop-canned decades worth of progress in this nation, and continues to do so without much remorse.

Fear of the "extreme" left is just that. A possibility.

We are being screwed in actuality.

Understood, but I think one way the dems can screw this up is by putting people on the ballot that will make voters decide whether they should stick with what they know or go deeply in a direction that this country has long been against. But I am in favor of ridding this nation of the current criminals and lackeys who are destroying this country. The ones people are fretting about - from the DSA - are only electable in smaller districts. They will no doubt lose in Gov/Senate races. Hence, the limits of Bernie Sanders. Make a lot of noise in hugely progressive districts, but the vast majority of Americans are not aligned with the DSA.

There are a lot of progressive districts around the nation that these loons can get elected in and when there is a decent amount of them they can exert major influence on the caucus and the party as a whole. As I've stated in other posts. The primary electorate is where the problem is located.

Something that was pointed out today: MIchigan is home to a lot of immigrants. Immigrants from Muslim countries. It could be that El-Sayed's success was partly due to the other candidate's staunch support of the state of Israel.

I am bothered by the way some of these candidates are treating Israel as "colonizers" andn "settlers". Heard those two terms in a call-in show today.

But I take the middle ground. Israel is well within its rights to defend itself. But what they are doing in Gaza is not the way to do it. You can support Israel and be against its government. Bibi needs to go.

Michigan is a swing state that has switched its vote each of the last 4 presidential elections and the Democrats just nominated a guys that's pretty much a socialist. This is a bad sign for the Dems. I get the Muslim immigrant issue, but what does this now open up for the presidential primaries not only here, but in WI as well who looks like they are going to nominate a woman that said she almost had a panic attack because there were too many old white people in a restaurant when she went in. What the heck is going on?!

Once, coming back from Norway, we got on a connecting flight from the continent. We were the only Anglo people on board. It connected in the US in Detroit. A passenger had a cardiac emergency over the Atlantic and the attendant came down the aisle, asking if anyone spoke Iranian. I told my wife that the couple behind us were speaking Farsi. On the second trip, they admitted it and the husband went back to help. All of the passengers went to ground transportation, except for us. We almost missed our flight, because I forgot Detroit is in EST...

So he learned a dialect of Farsi spoke by those people. As well as Azeri, Georgian, and English when he came to this country.
