Hey...JPW's little brother took it to Tebow in HS. Tebow isn't a great passer and JPW has maturity beyond his years. Tebow will find out that running QBs in the SEC end up getting hurt. Wait till Bamas D is back where it was last year and Tebow tries to run...when he gets his head knocked off a couple times and has to sit back and pass we will see who the better QB is. at least JPW is taking his lumps now and learning how to pass under pressure. No I'm not saying he's perfect right now but he WILL get better. So sport your Gator T-shirt and root for Teboe all you want but Alabamas QB from Alabamas top high school is gonna be better than that Florida QB HANDS DOWN!!! As for his passing for 10,000 yards in high school...well...he didn't play high school ball in Alabama did he?

TEBOW is how it's spelled !!!

Really ? Hmm . How many int's did jr. Wilson(Ross) throw 3 , or was it 4 ? When did little brother start playing defense ? Oh , never .

Did you watch that game ? Let's see , on one hand - a nationally ranked powerhouse with a new QB that made enough mistakes to keep the underdog in the game . On the other - One guy running for his life that managed to keep it close until the 4th qtr. all by himself .

All college coaches should consult you since you apparently know more about football than they do . Shula spent his last 12 hours of recruiting at TT's house , that wasn't anywhere near the case with JPW . Tebow's offers were about ten-fold to JPW's . Bill Oliver , who has seen thousands of high school QB's , says that Tebow is ".... hands down , the very best I've ever seen" . Oliver has repeated that statement publicly on at least three occasions . What would he know ?

As much as I hate to say this , Tebow will make at least one trip to New York - you know , where they hand out that Heisman thing . Barring something very much unforeseen , JPW will not .:mad2:

As far as the 2nd spot of your post that I placed in bold letters - Only if H*** freezes over . The truth hurts . Unfortunatley , I've accepted it . Obviously , you have not . I wish you were correct . I also wish a million $'s fell out of the sky and landed in my yard .

JPW is a good QB that will only get better . Tebow , like Andre Smith , is a one in 10,000 type of player . Don't let the sour grapes cloud your vision newbie .

Sparring ? Maybe . Hopefully , there are enough facts included so that it cannot be labeled as "ignorant sparring" .

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:BigA:

While I would love to bring in a five star like Brodie all the time, I don't mind the three stars like JPW one bit. One that is smart, learns quick, and comes from a winning program can go a long way to translating into success on the college field. Five stars can be duds so many times and when you sign one, you can be rest assured that signing another QB for a couple years will be difficult. Then injury or attrition sets in and you're in trouble. Look at Oklahoma for instance, once Bomar was booted they had to turn to a QB turned WR turned QB again. With guys like JPW, McElroy, Barnes, and Marve you can be set for a long time with a smart QB that limits mistakes and will have been in the system a while. But those shots at a all-world QB can't be turned down, and they shouldn't, though the alternative isn't too shabby either.

Only if hell freezes over huh? well brother...let me tell you something. I might be a "newbie" on this site...but just finding this site doesn't mean I JUST started watching college football. You can do your gator chomp all you want about Teboo and how he's sooooo great and what Benedict Oliver said about him...but I'm telling you that John Parker Wilson from Hoover, Alabama is going to be a better QB than Tim tooboe. I know that Shula spent a lot of time trying to recruit Tim Torbor, but I think that JPW is a diamond in the rough...sometimes you can't tell how good a player is until he gets out there and starts playing and that is why I said that by next year the rating people will be kicking themselves for not giving JPW 5 stars. But you know what brother...go ahead and stand by your Gator...I'm standing by JPW and the University of Alabama

i expect tim tebow to be as good a college qb, as his ratings predict. there is no way coach shula would have spent so much time recruiting him knowing his links to florida. he will be special. by the same token, i am real happy with wilson. he has proven to be a gamer. he has already surpassed ainge at tenn at this stage in the game. stafford of ga shows nothing of the poise and talent exhibiting by wilson in his first year. of course stafford is a freshman. we have a deep bench in qbs, one thing for sure coach shula knows qbs, and we will have excellent representation at this position for years to come.

Chuckle , chuckle . So , I should believe you ahead of Brother Bill ?:conf2: LOL !!!

I feel quite comfortable standing by the facts that are clearly apparent to almost everyone but you . If you take a good look you'll find that the older members here and myself are on the same page in the evaluation of Tebow . Time will tell in regards to the two QB's . When one of the greatest DC's in the history of college football says something it's wise to pay attention because it's usually proven to be correct .

Believe me that I agree with you about JPW being a good , solid SEC QB . However , Tebow has the potential to be an all-time great . It's not to belittle JPW , or you , in any way . I hate that Tebow went to Florida because he is clearly special and I am reluctantly experienced enough to admit it because I spent enough years working in and around this grand game to know that Oliver , Shula and Meyer know far more than either of us .

I'm as big a Bama fan as there is and have been since before you were alive - checked your profile . Even some of my old Press Box credentials are almost older than you . Don't take it so personally . When you see one of these - , it means that the comments are meant to be taken lightly . We are on the same side . It's embarrassing to be called a gator by a fellow Tider in such a bold manner .

Lastly , If we don't both back off and make friends here , we are both going to get suspended from the board . There isn't anything to prove here . We'll just have to agree to disagree and call it a day .

Truce ? FELLOW TIDER ? Buddy . Pal . Hand extended -

You guys forget though that Mr. JPW was a Parade All-American his senior year of HS. Parade All-American guys. That means he can play some football. He will be as good or better as Tebow, he is just a different type of QB. I've watched Video of Marve and GM too. They also do not look too shabby. I think we're goin to be ok. Not that I would not take TT coming to T-Town. I, like the rest of you, watched the news conference where TT announced his college choir and wanted to puke. So, I am not sayin that I don't want him here. But, lets focus on the good that is going on right now at T-Town. Also, as far as the Heisman Trophy comment....I will remind you what The Bear Said, at Alabama we don't win heisman trophies...we win national championships! RTR!!

You know what...you're right. I apologize for calling you a Gator fan...I think I got a little offended. I would however like to point out a couple things. All I want to do is compare a few QBs who played in the same eras

Gino Toretta-Miami or Jay Barker-Alabama

Paul Hornung-Notre Dame or Bart Starr-Alabama

John Huarte-Notre Dame or Joe Namath-Alabama

On the left we have Heisman winning QBs, all of whom I'm sure were extremely hyped up QBs. More hyped than the ones on the right. The guys on the left all won heisman trophies...but the guys on the right all won national championships. That's what really matters. I think John Parker Wilson is a classic Alabama QB. Yes he may not be as hyped as Tim Tebow and most people including obviously several Alabama fans think Tebow is the better man. All I was trying to state from my first post on here is that in another year JPW will be looked at as just as good as these other so-called great QBs...only time will tell. I still think from what I've seen (and no Im not a coach or a press person, but I do have an opinion...and I do think I've watched enough college sports to trust my opinion) JPW will be the better QB. So yes...for now we will have to agree to disagree. Roll Tide

should've closed this a day ago....

I never have sparring on this board.....and don't want to start.

All of y'all have opinions......that's it. No one will be proven right until at least 2 years from now.
