Hello, my fellow wearers of the Crimson. As a displaced Sooner living in Jacksonville, FL, hometown of His Tebowness, I just had to drop by and give y'all a REALLY LOUD RTR!!!!!!!!!!! I can't describe how wonderful it's been to see the car flags disappear, the sad faces on those driving Gator emblazoned vehicles, the noticeable lack of blue and orange (who the heck put those ungodly colors together, gag) apparel, etc. etc. I was there when we played a few years back in Norman, y'all are great fans, and if my Sooners can't be there (this will forever be The Season of Which We Do Not Speak, or TSWWDNS in message board acronym), then I'm glad it's the Tide. I can't wait to watch you beat the snot out of the shorthorns, the hate I have for them would involve an entirely new thread, but let's just say watching their humiliation on National TV will get my new year off to a fabulous start. RAMMER JAMMER YELLOWHAMMER, GIVE EM HELL ALABAMA!!!!!!!

Thank you very much. You will occasionally find some of your fellow Western Crimson wearers on this board as well. We seem to have a pretty good rapport with OU, and welcome you to our humble internet home (well, maybe not too humble at the moment). We also remember our own "lost year" of 2000 - the first year in what was very nearly a lost decade. Cheer up, Stoops isn't going anywhere and one year of bad fortune doesn't kill a hundred years of tradition.

Boomer Sooner and Roll Tide!!! :Joker_PDT_43:

From a fellow Jax resident, it was great to see superman get his butt kicked, you can't those cryin' eyes. I couldn't wait to get to work monday, those gaytors were cryin' a mile of tears...:BigA::BigA::BigA:

The majority of OU fans list Bama as their second favorite team, and this is again reflected in the OUInsider fan poll going on right now. Of the respondents, 442 will be cheering for Bama, and only 25 for texas, that's about 95% for Bama. And before some texas fan states that this "love affair" is only because Bama is playing them, is not accurate. Since the 2002-03 home and home series, a majority of OU fans consider Bama as their crimson brethen. Why? Because Bama fans that traveled to Norman say they have never been treated that good, and for the Sooners that traveled to Tuscaloosa, well the whole experience was fantastic. For me, it could not have been better.

I have seen Bama play in 2004 (Fayetteville), 2005 Arky in Tuscaloosa, Ttech in the Cotton Bowl, 2006 Iron Bowl in T town, 2007 Tennesses in T town, and 2008 Arky in Fayetteville. So I am a bit more than just a casual observer. And I live in Norman. Sure miss Cypress Inn and City Cafe!

Roll Tide Rollllllll.

I don't know ANY Sooners who will be cheering for tejas, I think that poll must have run across some smart alecs. I'm fairly confident ALL real Sooner fans will be cheering for Bama at the top of our lungs, which will make it so much more fun when you win. If it had come down to Florida/tejas, I just would have had to find something else to do that night. I would have hoped for tejas to lose, but I would have had a horrible time watching Florida win, ya know? With the Tide in the game, I can sport my crimson and be genuinely happy when Bama wins their 967th National Championship (I keed, I keed). Can't wait, RTR!!!!!

To this day, I still have not been to any games quite like the OU/Bama games. There was just a great camaradarie between the fans and no smack talk at all. I think a lot of Sooner fans first gained a lot of respect for Bama fans on that Thursday when the hundreds of RVs began rolling into Norman (during a pretty down period for Bama). The Sooners traveled equally as well to the South and it was just a good 'ole time. Both sides respected each other so much and really enjoyed just talking football without any hate. I remember eating at Buffalo Phil's for the 2003 game and sitting at that big table in the back with half Bama and half OU fans. Everyone really enjoyed it. It was nice for a change. :) I'm so glad that I was able to experience my school (OU) play against the team I was born and bred with (Bama). Almost surreal.

I remember driving over to Norman with my grandson who was 7 I think at the time, to see the Bama RV's come in. It was truly a sight. So many of the powers of today's college football world have no inkling of real tradition. OU and Bama both have been involved in big games, and I mean REALLY big games now for decades.
Bashing Texas on another school's board is not what I want to be about. The hatred we have for the Horns is well known, so there's no need to go there. I know of no Sooner, none, zero, nada, that will ever root for the University of Texas. Seeing Bama throttle them will just make it doubly enjoyable. Texas is a solid team, don't get me wrong. Bama will need to bring their A game. As much as I detest Texas, Colt McCoy is a tough kid, and a class act. I don't believe they are as good this year as they were last season.
To say the Sooner Nation is behind Bama would be the understatement of the century.

I pulled for OU in every game they played this year, and was sorry things turned out so badly.
I have been in Norman once (not for a game, but business), and I was treated great; I haven't been many other places where I was treated any better (and yes, they knew I was from Bama - as is my company, and I did engage a few in some light football conversation).
Norman also has some incredibly good-looking women...maybe that slanted my perspective?;)

I was born an OU fan and went to school here in Bama and marched in the band. There are only 2 teams in my life that I hate worse than any others: Texas and Tennessee. Strange that they are both orange and have what look like giant T's on their helmets. Just sayin'. RTR and Boomer Sooner!!!!!!
