You don't think he would be shuffling Simpson in for a series now and then to see what he's got? Kid is a pretty good runner also.
Oh, I'm sure. Ty is way more athletic than people realize. Not on Milroe's level, but he's a really gifted athlete.

Lane loves to run the ball. Corral and Ealy ate us up in 2020. Milroe with Jam/Haynes would be nuts in a Lane Kiffin offense. I think Simpson would absolutely thrive too.

I mention this all the time. There is real evidence that Milroe does not process information fast enough, but people still don't acknowledge it.
Fwiw Carson Beck was 2.39 Secs... 5th best in FBS

Other numbers for Jalen in 2023

32.4% pressure-to-sack conversion rate was the sixth-worst in FBS
68.0 passing grade on throws 0-19 yards stood just 100th in FBS

I'd love to see updated numbers but they probably aren't much different.

Can't have a passing grade on throws 0-19 yards if you don't throw 0-19 yards...

Wasn’t Formby a threat to start this year? In fact, I was convinced he started the first game.
He did - the plan was him and Pritchett to split time at RT until one of them stepped clearly ahead. Both played well in the first game - Formby maybe just a bit better, but not order of magnitude. USF took advantage of him pretty badly though.

Yep - started at RT with Pritchett at LT.
Ok, so the narrative that we had 2 starters out against USF is kind of wrong.

Edit: what I mean is if Proctor and Pritchett both play the same position, having them both unavailable shouldn't shake up the entire OL. We must have some depth issues.

yeah - kinda, sorta not completely true - kinda gray area. I'd still say we had two new starters as Booker slid out to a place he hasn't played since HS so he was a new starter to LT, and him being out of place, put in a new face at LG so it was a pretty big shakeup. Had Pritchett been able to go all game, he's probably at LT again (where he started game 1) and booker is back at OG.

100% agree on depth issues. Main point is that we learned there isn't a 4th OT they trust to play, even in non-SEC play, at least not at LT. Could be an issue if proctor doesn't make it back quickly and if any one else gets dinged up.

Again, I still do not think we are giving the opponent their due. We looked like crap for 3.5 quarters but it was that team from florida that dialed it up. They did it last year and the same group of guys did it again. That team is a scrapper so we just need to swallow that reality dose and get ready for game 3.

USF played their butts off and credit to them for that. But realistically they shouldn't even be able to stay on the same field as a team with this much talent - even with Bama playing backups. I think it says more about what Bama DIDN'T do than what USF did.

This "same group of guys" at USF was a 6-6 team in the American Athletic Conference last year and their QB (while tough) can't hit the broad side of a barn. This Bama team should have been playing the third string in the 4th quarter, NOT still fighting to win the game. The fact that it was a game well into the 4th quarter should be embarrassing to our team, not just a case of "well USF played really well!"

My hope is that it will at least be a lesson that this team can build on going forward...

To be fair, two guys playing a different position at the last minute...
