What's with all the talk on ESPN about Bama's QB issues? How is it that a team whose QB goes 19-34 for 276 w/2 TDs and a pick has QB issues? If he does that on January 8, we're bringing home a crystal football from Pasadena!

Sheesh! Give me a freakin' break!

He made a couple of bad decisions and missed a few big plays down field, but all in all I thought Mac played a pretty good ball game. It was certainly better than what we had been seeing the previous few weeks that's for sure.

I had a pretty good view of the game from my seats in section MM, and it looked to me like he had a pretty good game. I like the majority of what I saw tonight.

After seeing the stats, I think he had a great night. No one in their right mind can deny that his numbers tonight were very productive. I agree that he can improve (that pick at the 5 was a stupid throw), but for ESPN to suggest that we have QB issues after watching what he did tonight is laughable at best and criminal at worst.

LSU fans are such poor sports. If you take that bet, you'll lose more than pride. LSU was physically dominated. Your sideline looked more like an infirmary than anything. If you look at the stats or scoreboard, any simpleton could see the victor. So please, don't try to pee on our parade, amigo. RTR

Bad calls will always be a part of football, win or lose. SEC officials have been less then average this year so you definately have to play within the rules given this year. And while I understand the LSU's fans frustration the fact is LSU gave Bama a great game, but ultimately Bama proved why they are the better team. Better teams don't make excuses as to why they lost. They certaintly don't blame referees for the loss. The reality is...that non- interception call had no part in the climax of the game. And to blame a loss on a non-call is pretty much juvenile. If LSU want somebody to blame for the loss then look at your team. Only getting 9 yards in the 4th quarter isn't going to get you much, period.

The bottomline is, I personally think Les Miles had more to do with this loss for LSU fans then the referees.

Bottom line is that this game wasn't decided by the refs. Bama won because they were the tougher, more physical, better prepared team. The talking heads and fans from other schools can say what they want. The margin of victory was 9. Not 2, not 5, but 9. As pointed out here, statistically speaking, LSU was really kind of lucky it wasn't worse than that.

What is amazing is that some of the idiots in the media fail to see that.
I understand rival fans saying that, heck there's a new conspiracy every week in the SEC and in other conferences and fans are going to let it get under their skin. We aren't any different. I can understand LSU fans whining about it, I expected it. But their HC didn't make excuses. Miles just said Alabama was the better team and they didn't play well.
But to me, the majority of the talking heads without any research of the whole game itself, seem to be piling on making an issue with SEC refs look worse than it is. Yes there were missed calls in this game (of which that may or may not have been one). ON BOTH SIDES! Yet some in the media want to pick on one, and blame their loss on that one call. In the end, they want to ignore the fact that LSU couldn't do jack in the 4th qtr, they had no timeouts and they lost several key players to injury earlier in the game. They physically got beat, and that one call against them doesn't matter one iota.

I'm glad to call it a win, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "solid" win. Glad to have escaped. There is a lot of work to do to make it through the SECCG, much less the BCSCG.
I'm with you Dartigan, though I'll have to admit I was more comfortable hearing Rammer Jammer after this game than I was after Tennessee. Games are growth opportunities, and I figure our players and staff did some growing with this one.

It had nothing to do with Bama's physical whipping of LSU. It's just that Les Miles is unlucky.

LSU Homer said:
If anything, Miles is a little unlucky today. Unlucky that Patrick Peterson, also fighting injury, wasn’t in the game when Alabama threw a bubble screen that turned into a 73-yard touchdown for Julio Jones. Unlucky that officials didn’t rule in Peterson’s favor in his near-interception in the fourth quarter — he looked inbounds to me. And he was unlucky an LSU team that had been healthy all season picked Saturday to become fragile.

LSU was wore slap out in the 4th quarter. Wore slap out. They had about 5 yards of total offense in the whole quarter and had the ball all of about three minutes (just going from memory, not official stats). The score doesn't show it, but Alabama physically smashed LSU tonight.

Bama made their ... quit.
It was so bad, that my 11yr old daughter, who is just a casual football observer noted that LSU looked "wore slap out".

Bama had a good game, but it was far from domination. Florida is is going to be a double handful for Bama and my money is on Florida, I'm afraid.
Question: Does anybody think a healthy Jordan Jefferson would have made a difference in the ballgame?

I think they did miss some of the playmaking ability he brings to their offense & Scott as well, but they still had Shepherd who was playing and their 2nd string RB Ridley that scored the td. There is a reason Jefferson is the starter & Lee isn't. Ridley didn't look like a huge drop-off at RB to me though.
Also, if I remember Shepherd was being touted as part of the big "surprise" pkg they had in store for Alabama by our resident LSU posters. But I guess Lee wasn't up to speed with the play-calling because it seemed Shepherd disappeared as part of their offensive pkg. They couldn't run the option successfully, and I don't know why they kept trying that play even with Jefferson & Shepherd in the game.

Bama made some nice adjustments on both sides that contributed to their ineptness.

We could play the what if game, but it cuts both ways. IF we execute a couple of sure open TD pass plays earlier, its not even close.
But it is what it is.

Thanks, Cat. I appreciate your perspective. Would be great to beat Florida with everybody healthy on both sides and no either/or calls giving one side grist for complaining that they wuz robbed. Should not get ahead of myself, though. I hear the sound of cowbells, not far down the highway.

THANK Y0U!!!!!!!!!!!! i swear i have been over to tigerforums because i wanted to congratulate them on a good game but i could not do it after i read there plethora of posts about that call. LSU can belly ache and complain with the best of them...but for a team that use to beat there chest and claim to be the bully of the west (circa 2006). they aren't looking so tough right now. more like a bully that finally found someone who hits back just as hard (actually harder) and now they don't want anymore. so of course there going to say they didn't lose the fight they were just sick that day or had something in there eye or a whole bunch of other execuses. It helps cover up the fact that bama beat them from pillar to post. :frocket:

Hammer meets nail. Well said. I dont think they could have scored another touchdown on us in the next week. We beat them to a pulp. They probably had to use LifeFlight after the game. But hey they cant admit they got pounded. Nooo it was the refs. :rolleye2:
