Question: Analyze LSU

What are y'all's thoughts on LSU's defense and offense? Stuff the box on defense and dare Muttonburger to best us? Run right at them with PA passes?

LSU's DL is almost as good as last year's. However, their secondary should be ripe for the pickin they have Reid at safety and Simon at one corner but their other corner is a freshman as are almost all their backups. Not redshirt freshman, high school freshman. They also have several high school freshman as backup LB's and at least one is a starter.

I know we've had some freshman step up this year but I think that's easier to accomplish on the offensive side than on the defensive side of the ball.

I think our offensive game plan will be similar to last year's but look for us to exploit that young secondary on a regular basis.

Defensively I think we'll do what we always do, which is stop the run, however we have to do it. LSU's offense is nowhere near as dangerous as they were last year.

LSU will bring everything they've got.

Emotion, scheme, effort, revenge... Bama will have to be ready.

As long as we execute we won't be denied.

I'm telling you, the more that crowd yells, the more ticked off our O-linemen will get and the better our run game will get.

Analyze LSU:

It seems that LSU has been working very hard to prove their worth to the father figure in their life (Saban). However, given the interpersonal dynamics between the young Whos and their father figure, who clearly abandoned them some time ago, I don't anticipate that this upcoming meeting will sit well for them. I would anticipate that once they begin to be disciplined by their superiors, the ego-insult is likely to cause quite a tailspin. I would anticipate previous repressed feelings of impotence and inadequacy, currently held in check by vigorous efforts to prove themselves, will run rampant in the days after their likely beating. While such a physical mauling may be condoned in the arena of play, it may still have lasting impacts on these young Whos throughout their life, as well as to their current surrogate step-father figure. Indeed, they may begin to see their step-father as a doddering man, out of touch with reality. This tail-spin may also affect their peers, the younger "siblings" who have agreed to join them in their efforts to prove themselves to their long-departed father figure. I would expect them to continue to strive in the future, but with far less rewards than they have claimed in the past, before they were confronted with their former father figure, now leading a group of different men on the battlefield.

This is a less technical point, but in 2010 we were much worse, had already lost to SC, and we barely lost 24-21.

That usually involves a pass play.

"There are three things that can happen when you throw a pass, and two of them are bad."

yea...just sayin...i remember that tight end reverse trick play they did on us 2 years ago...just hope they are ready for them...i know they will be.

Agreed. I think they'll pull out all the stops in this one. We need to play smart. I'd be surprised if we don't. :BigA:
