JessN: Assistant coach hiring tracker...

Sheridan has QB coaching experience in the past. I think it's more likely he moves to QB coach then to have a TE/co-OC and then hire a standalone QB coach.

Alabama hired Kalen DeBoer to specifically get Kalen DeBoer, not any one assistant or a group of assistants. The system is DeBoer's. It doesn't "defeat the purpose" of anything.

Go get Joe cox back then for tight ends maybe.

Maybe this will be a good opportunity to hire some coaches at those spots who are good recruiters as well, preferably with SEC/Southern ties. It’s DeBoer’s system, so I’m not that concerned about the offensive scheme. The only real knock on Washington’s staff was that weren’t great recruiters.

Somebody call Sam Pittman and Chip Kelly him on over here for the OL position! 😂😂

Why didn't we match Grubb's salary? I don't know what his salary was going to be here, but he made 2 million at Washington. I'm assuming he would have made at least that here, if not more. Most NFL coordinators don't make much more than that, especially not first time NFL coordinators.

Wasn't for money. Dude was miserable recruiting and didn't want to move his family.

We would have paid as much as any nfl team for an OC. Were probably already going to pay him 2 mil or more.

I was really looking forward to having a “name” oline coach. Well CKD did well for himself hiring d coaches let’s see what he’s got up his sleeve on offense

Someone posted on another board that when Grubb was without DeBoer in 2019 at Fresno St. he did not do very well.

Losing Huff hurts as much as the OC. The OC loss means that DeBoer will have to spend time teaching coaches instead of his staff teaching players. The OL coach loss is a disaster. There are very few good oline coaches out there, and none uses the oline the way that DeBoer wants to. Add the lack of experience on Alabama's roster - disaster.

Just an opinion but, CDB seems to project confidence and respect, he also has done a great job in recruiting and the portal. Grubb seems to love Seattle (don’t know why because it is the tropical rainforest of the NW) so much so that he should have stayed at Washington until his name was called elsewhere. I agree with most that if a Scott Huff follows him it would be the much greater loss, but not an insurmountable loss. Grubb was never here anyway… so I expect DeBoer to make a run at Moore at Mizzou or just go in-house for OC where he finds a OL coach I have no idea, but I imagine he does.

Yep... it's double the disaster.

This is a HUGE loss and people trying to brush it off will be whistling past the graveyard.

I'm changing season expectations to 7-5 at worst and 9-3 at best and I don't feel good about the best.

This is just a TERRIBLE course of events.

I expect another mass exodus after the spring.
