Bama v. UGA Postgame Thread...

I can not believe it!!! I watched the first half and thought "that's it".

I had a dang meeting at 1 that I couldn't get out of. As I'm getting out of my truck Georgia scored the first basket of the second half and I thought, "It could get bad".

I get back to my office about ten minutes ago and I have twenty emails from old college buds saying..."What a comeback"!!!!

And I missed it. As Bobby Bowden says, "DADGUMMIT"...

But RTR!!!!! That should get us in the dance!!!

We must have really played some incredible defense in the second half and overtime.

sip

Unbelievable!!!
If we had played the first 30 minutes like we played the last 10 we would have won by 20. UGA froze up and couldn't regain any momentum. We played the first thirty minutes with no energy, emotion. or sense of urgency. We had a 180 degree turnaround in the last ten minutes. Great comeback by the players and coaches. Play defense and make your FTs, you always have a chance. I think we just played our way into the big dance...we for sure kept our hopes alive for an SEC tournament championship. Now let's win the next one...that's all we gotta do. RTR

Congrats to the entire team and staff on a gritty, gutsy performance. It's like they knew they had the game once they were within five. It's like they just wanted to toy with UGA for the first 59 minutes.:)

Can you imagine this team with some recruiting? Can you imagine how this game would have ended in the past? Losing by 20 or so? I'm so thankful we can put those type things in the past. Will this team ever be counted out in the future?

A little off topic but a great, great interview with Robert Horry after the game as well. He looks like he could still shoot some, hasn't aged a bit. He's just an entertaining personality. I'm proud of all he's done and how he appears to be raising his children. Wimp had some teams back then. It looks like Grant will have some of his own too.

I can't describe how proud I am of this team right now. I am so proud to have Anthony Grant representing our university. He never let this team quit. This win is going to give our team so much confidence and energy going into the semifinals tommorow.

So I get back to my office and find the game online at halftime. Watch until we're down by 13 with 7 minutes to go, and I turn it off. Can't watch us get blown out when I should be working anyway. Check back later and see we went to OT and won. I can be such a maroon sometimes.

Congrats to the boys!

No TV coverage in the Carolinas, checked in a few times in the second half. And a little voice kept telling me there was a comeback still in us.

Great win in the biggest game we've played in years.

For a truly sinful pleasure, drop in to the AJC thread. It is beyond vile -- deliciously and wonderfully lacking in humanity and social value.

I recommend it highly.

I was "watching" the 1st half via ESPN Gamecast and had a meeting with around 9 minutes left in the 2nd. I honestly check the score when I got out to see if we at least brought it closer and was (Of Course) BLOW AWAY! I just got home, so waiting to see the highlights as all the sports radio shows were talking about the time out and great comeback. RTR!!!

I watched the whole game and half way through the second half I almost left the tv and went to the computer but for some reason I couldn't leave. That attitude of not quiting that Bama has had since the start of the season is rubbing off on me I guess lol! My hat is off to coach Grant and this group of guys! Regardless where they end up in post season doesn't matter to me. They have made Bama basketball fun again! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!

I forgot to add that Cecil Hurt tweeted, "One of the more amazing wins in UA hoops history. And I have seen a lot of Alabama games." Great win for this great group of young men! RTR!

HUGE!!

DVR'd the game and got home and watched all of it without knowing the outcome ahead of time (game may have still been underway). Guy on TV just said Boston College was a "last one in" team but they just got pounded.

Georgia played tough defense and Leslie was all world much of the game (13 of UGA's 1st 17 points). I cannot believe how things went the last 5 minutes of regulation.

Hines played great defense on Thompkins but Thompkins still ended up 8 for 10 from the floor with 19 points. Thompkins should have fouled but had a missed call early against Mitchell. Leslie and Thompkins can play...

Nice win ,,,,way to hang tough... IMHO it was absolutely beautiful, the score only matters at the end!

Now let's make some noise from hence forth....I would like to see them play more loosely(with reckless abandonment) and not so uptight,,,,kind of like the last 4 minutes of the game + OT.

RTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NIce coaching to, grant,,, I would of had my 2 techs and been tossed in the first half(if i had been coach),, way to keep your composer coach grant.

Coach Grant keeps a composer? Where - in his basement?

If I kept a composer, I'd make him come out once a week and perform a symphony for me, or play sonatas before bed and to entertain guests...oh the fun!

I'm sold on Coach Grant for three reasons.

1. He doesn't let his team lose their cool when behind.
2. He makes them practice hitting free throws.
3. He teaches them how to pass the ball to our on players. (More often than not)

I actually enjoy watching Alabama basketball again.

This game had that "today just isn't our day" feel that's almost never overcome...

Hopefully the guys bring today's endgame tenacity from the beginning against UK.

Streamed the game online at work today--Unbelievable comeback win! When Georgia thought it was all over we hit 'em hard. Grant is doing things the right way. Green, Mitchell, Releford are ballers baby! RTR
