When I say the refs travel, I was supporting Earle's point in the quoted post. Mike Kitts has officiated in 20 different states this year. James Barker has called games in 14 different states. Tim Gattis has been to 15 states to officiate.
In regards to my comment about the fouls, look at the total number of fouls called in the game compared to each ref's other games. The game had 46 fouls called. Look at the below table of each referee's total number of games, number of 40+ foul games, and foul per game average for the season.
