Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

NCAA will not make a statement yet. They are still investigating Bama's roll in this. I would bet that absolutely no action by NCAA will be taken. :mad2:

Classic. :)

I was just about to say nothing will be done and then I read the above post. You took the words out of my mouth.

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

I think that their attorney has already made the case that this was not an "extra benefit" to Reggie in any way whatsoever. Reggie never "lived" in the house and his parents are free to accept anything from anyone without his knowledge or involvement. This will become an NCAA issue.

Even if Reggie handled the deal himself, it would have no affect on Reggie, the Heisman Trophy or his status as the #1 player taken this coming Saturday.

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

I was looking over USC forums a few minutes ago and there is talk about a car, plane tickets for the parents, etc.

Bob Ryan, Philly reporter, feels the NCAA is going to come down hard on this one. He's a pretty good reporter and seems to keep abreast of most things happening within the NCAA.

What strikes me as interesting is as much publicity as USC has had over the last few years...it will lead to this story gets the spotlight to the same degree. In an effort to keep from looking like a fool...the NCAA may be forced to make another "statement."

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

We don't know all the facts.

C'mon does anyone really think anything will happen??

If OSU got nothing for their scandal, do you really think anything will happen here?

Reggies's got the broom, and USC and the NCAA are looking for the rug as we speak.

It's always been an NCAA issue. There's nothing criminal about it.

It appears the Heisman folks are already talking about the possibility of it effecting the award to Bush.

I'll believe that when I see it.

Reggie Bush really seemed lax on PTI today and laughed about a lot of it

I watched ESPN 's SportsCenter...they seemed to shrug it off as well, saying a 18-20 year old man can't make finacial decisons for their parents. I understand that reasoning...but at the same time alot goes on that neither a student-athlete, a parent nor/or a university has full control over. BUT unfortunately, it is always up to the NCAA as to wether it is punishable or not. So we shall see and I'm guessing we won't see much if anything.

Barners at it again........

Here's a post from their scout message board:

Reggie Bush violated NCAA guidelines and Southern Cal will have to give up the NCAA 2004 National Championship which Auburn should have won anyway by having the best football team in the country in 2004. Therefore since Auburn was the only major undefeated and untied football team in the country which did not cheat then AUBURN is 2004 National Football Champions.

Reggie Bush* USC*

******Maybe a big Asterix will be inserted somewhere.*****

Everyone remembers our asterix season right?*

Bush wasn't there for the 2003...LSU/USC Split, was he???

An Auburn freshman...

Mr. Bush never visited his mother and step-father at their home during his last year of college? He's insinuating they moved and forgot to tell him?
Go from living in an apartment to $750K home (I don't know the area but in a lot of areas a home with that price tag is not a big deal).
I haven't read anything about the occupation of the mother and step-father. Could they afford the mortgage/rent, probably in the 5k range?
Why move out when questions are raised? You mean that doesn't look good, like maybe we're trying to hide something?

It's a farce. There must be more blind people living at/attending USC than anywhere in the nation. And of course the coaches are shocked!

An Auburn freshman could wrap this probe up...in about a day. The dots are the size of Tubby's ears, and there are so few of them.

.

I believe the questions are along the lines of whether they were "credit worthy" of a lease on a place like that.

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

I wonder if Reggie went home for Christmas or stayed on Campus? My bet is that he at least spent a little time at home.

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

I know things are different on the Left Coast, but I'm betting that when your folks go from an apartment to a 3000 sq. ft. home valued at a 3/4 of a mil., it becomes more than just casual meal time chit-chat at family get-togethers.

One more thing, the value of the home in relation to SoCal prices has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with guilt or innocence. It's a freaking house we're talking about.

Yep, according to their rules, Bush must have been an NCAA elidglible athlete during the time that he earned the award. If the NCAA decides that this voids his elidgibility during the 2005 season, he will likely lose the award...

Since USC knew nothing about this, I hope that they don't get sanctioned. Sure, that means that the NCAA is not being consistent, but I don't wish bad things on others, especially when they did nothing to deserve it. Those left at USC did nothing wrong.

Bush should lose his Heisman, that would be enough for me...
