Yes, I realize that and think it is pathetic. You claim that we were railroaded for an offense that was out of our control, so you want everyone else to get railroaded with us. And that makes it better? How?

The NCAA is out of control and needs to be completely dismantled. That should be the focus of the Bama nation, not this pathetic stuff.

If you feel that Bama was innocent, you must also feel that USC is innocent. If that is the case, how could you call for their receiving equally poor treatment by the NCAA?

Petty behavior like this helps no one...

I think the line of thinking from Bama Nation is that the NCAA isn't going to be "fixed" so the next best thing is to treat everyone in the same harsh manor that we got treated for equal and more severe actions.

Personally I doubt USC will get anything done to them. I doubt the NCAA will change it's inconsistent behavior. We're viewed as cheaters and USC and other teams are viewed as "great programs" even when they obviously have trash in their yard as well. The difference is their "trash" is swept under the rug as "a misunderstanding" and ours is taken to the fullest extent of the law.

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

NYBAMAFAN, I think you are missing what people are saying here.
Yes, We believe the NCAAzi's should be disbanded they have different standards for different colleges.
All You Bama Nation brethren want is a level playing field when it comes to infractions. If they bust us for something we had no control over. they should bust everyone.
Could it be said that USC won a National Championship with a Ineligible player in this case if it is true then YES.
Now if it had been Alabama. There would be a DOUBLE standard. and The double standard is where WE have a problem.
I do not hate USC, I hate the NCAAzi's who pick and chose when to punish and when to let slide. It's not sour grapes it's discrimination.

Fair enough. One point, though - the house was not occupied by the Bush family until the spring of 2005, and USC lost to Texas last season, so this wouldn't impact their NCs for the 2003 or 2004 seasons. Even if they forfeit every game in 2005, they lose nothing unless they are forced to return the money for their bowl game, and I don't think that has ever been done. Since they self-reported this as soon as they found out and asked the NCAA to investigate, I doubt that they will lose any schollies or be put on probation unless it is shown that they either knew or should have known about the move.

I still think that Bush should lose his Heisman and we should all move on...

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

I'm moving on....

Did anyone hear about Bama having to report the cigars, that were given to the players after the -tenn game, as a rules violation?

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

What we would all like from the NCAA is for them to clarify why Travis Carrol's POS car was a major violation and Adrian Peterson can drive a car for free several months and it's simply ok? And a pretty nice Lexus I might add. Did I menton that when Travis Caroll's POS Cherokee was picked up in Florida there was a new Jeep and a motorcycle parked where he was staying?

What we would like to know from the NCAA is how Antonio Langham signing a cocktail napkin results in Alabama forfeiting 11 games, while Reggie Bush’s parents getting use of a house turns out to be no big deal. I would like to see the witness signatures on that napkin and notary seal.

Former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett told ESPN The Magazine that coach Jim Tressel, his staff and school boosters arranged for him to get passing grades, money for bogus summer jobs, thousands of dollars in cash and loaner cars.

Kentucky basketball star Randolph Morris received more than $7,000 from nine NBA teams for expenses related to tryouts. NCAA legislation states that summer tryouts are permitted, but that student-athletes may not receive expenses or other payment from NBA teams.

We just want some answers concerning the "Level playing field" the NCAA talks about.

Couldn't of put it better myself. Great post!!!

That's where I'm coming from. I don't care at all whether USC or any other school receives sanctions from the NCAA. BUT, if Alabama is hit with severe and crippling penalties, I expect to see every school held to the same standard.

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

I have four final words to share on the subject that my father shared with me early on in my life. Understand their meaning and things like this will cease to create discord in your life.

Life is not fair

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

Yes sensi. You can't expect both ends of a sugar cane to be sweet.

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

Did your father also tell you to just meekly accept inequities when they come your way? I'm not trying to be a wise-acre, but I'm sure everyone here knows that life is not fair, but they also understand that it doesn't have to ALWAYS be that way.

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

Tribe denies link with Bush, prospective agent
Bush's family lived in a house owned by Michaels for nearly a year. Several sources reported Sunday that the family moved out last weekend after questions over its ownership arose.

The Pac-10 said Sunday that it will investigate whether any NCAA rules were violated when Bush's family, including mother Denise Griffin, stepfather LaMar Griffin and brother Jovan Griffin lived in the house in the San Diego suburb of Spring Valley while Bush was still playing for Southern California last season.

NCAA rules prohibit student-athletes and their families from receiving extra benefits from agents or their representatives.

CECIL HURT: Fans still wonder about sanctions
“The mother, stepfather and brother of former USC tailback Reggie Bush lived last year in a new $750,000 home owned by a man who hoped to represent their soon-to-be-professional son … ."

“Adrian Peterson, the Oklahoma running back and runner-up for the 2004 Heisman Trophy, secured a financing agreement and drove a luxury car for several weeks last winter but then returned it … ."

“Former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett told ESPN The Magazine that coach Jim Tressel, his staff and school boosters arranged for him to get passing grades, money for bogus summer jobs, thousands of dollars in cash and loaner cars … ."

No, but the point of the discussion was not to let inequity create bad feelings for others who were more fortunate. I was raised in very poor circumstances, and he wanted me to understand that you had to work hard and hope for the best, but if the best never came to you, to enjoy what you have and not worry about what you might not have. He was especially critical of us when we seemed unable to accept that which we could not control.

You say that you only want equity. Fair enough. I would rather have justice...

I understand what you're trying to say. Basically you're saying don't blame USC for something the NCAA is suppose to be doing. USC, Ohio St, Oklahoma (in all fairness) should be looked upon with a microscope as we were. But for whatever reason they aren't. But as Alabama fans we shouldn't wish ill will on someone that isn't getting the same "shaft" as we had drove up our rear ends. But rather vent the anger/blame at the ones responsible for not doing their jobs.

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

The only reason I would like to see USC, OSU, etc. get hammered like Alabama is that as long as it is only us nothing will change. To people in the other 49 states and DC the mistreatment of Alabama was hardly noticed and even if we were treated unfairly in this instance, we probably deserved it for prior transgressions and for being racist rednecks. Hopefully if a media darling like USC were to be unfairly pilloried more people would take notice and some positive change might occur. Absent that, I think it is our duty to try and force the NCAA to apply the rules consistently and allow a level playing field. The only way most of us can do that is complain about it loudly enough to any media outlet that will listen.

Could of done without that statement. :conf3:

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

I don't like it either; but with my years of living outside the state, that seems to be the attitude many have.

Back to the original topic. It seems the only answer to the NCAA is if other schools get the same medicine we got and they'd start making noise as well. But if they continue to sweep other's transgressions under the rug nothing will change.

What mechanism PROVED that Logan Young paid $150-200 thou for Means? What mechanism PROVED that BAMA had anything to do with Travis Carroll's truck purchase? What you're failing to understand is that there's no crusade to bring USC down, but, by God, we want to see the same standards applied to EVERYONE. That's plainly not the case presently.
Nor has it been or probably ever will be unfortunately. The NCAA is the most hypocritical and corrupt organization in the entire country!:mad2:
