Coaching Carousel 2024

Some sources are saying UNC may hire Belichick as their Head Coach as soon as Sunday.

Wellllll dang UNC that's how you do it, if you're going too swing for the fences, might as well break out the checkbook & swing for one of the best too ever coach the game..

Rich Rodriguez leaving Jax State to head back to West Virginia. I guess you can go home again.
I hate it for Jax St, being our local college, I honestly think he did an awesome job at Jax St & hope the new HC builds off what Rich Rod started too build..

This is definitely becoming the year of the retreads in the CFB coaching carousel. We’ll see where we are in 2 years with these hires
I think programs are now at the point of simply saying “I need a head coach that can coach the game from X’s and O’s standpoint, can be the face of the program, build a staff, and win games. With NIL now, programs are going to General Managers that become the go between for recruits and transfers. As the head coach, you don’t need to pound the pavement recruiting as much as you did in years past. Prior to NIL, the pitch was about player development to get you the big payday in the NFL. Today it isn’t about pay me later.. Today is about “pay me now”.

CNS won a bunch of games at Alabama because sold development and out recruited his competition. He pretty said every discussion with recruits turn into NIL negotiations. For him, that was the final straw.

Belichick and Mullen may do okay because someone else manages getting the plays. All they need to do is coach.

Belichick to UNC is just weird. He's 72 years old and has no college experience. Big name for sure, but I just don't see him succeeding in CFB, especially the era of NIL. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
My understanding is UNC's NIL pledges increased significantly with the announcement...

It's no longer only about wins/losses.

Maybe this new system favors Mullen, and I can definitely see college GM’s starting to make more than most top-tier coordinators. Mullen better make sure he nails that one down
