I think programs are now at the point of simply saying “I need a head coach that can coach the game from X’s and O’s standpoint, can be the face of the program, build a staff, and win games. With NIL now, programs are going to General Managers that become the go between for recruits and transfers. As the head coach, you don’t need to pound the pavement recruiting as much as you did in years past. Prior to NIL, the pitch was about player development to get you the big payday in the NFL. Today it isn’t about pay me latter. Today is about “pay me nowâ€Â.
