I thought I would pass along an update on Demetrius Goode for anyone that is interested. Unfortunately, the news is not good news. As far as I know, he has yet to see the field. He has a hamstring injury that has plagued him since before the season began. I heard he was going to try and play baseball. I can't confirm that but apparently at some point and time he was a pretty good baseball player. If he can get healthy, then it will give UNA some fresh legs later in the season. If I hear anything else, I'll be sure to pass it along.

Goode got his first playing time this year in the 4th quarter as UNA was in the process of running out the clock. I think he had 6 carries for 26 yards or something close that. At least he appears to be healthy now and maybe he will see more playing time as the year goes on. Its good to have a fresh back as midseason approaches especially with playoffs. Janoris Jenkins may be making a statement for winning the Harlon Hill. He is all over the field on special teams and on defense. He had a 90 yard punt return for a TD tonight and blocked a field goal.

I hated to see him go, the entire Goode family has meant so much to Alabama Football. I wish him the Best!

correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think he's related to the town creek goode's you're thinking of. i think dg is from georgia.

i hated to see him transfer too. he could have gotten some solid carries behind lacey this year.

Pretty sure you're correct. Think he's out of Mississippi and not directly related if at all.

On a side note, UNA's band peformed yesterday at the Harselle Invitational competition. (My daughters first year in marching band) Very impressed with the program.

RTR!!!

Goode scored tonight. I don't have his stats just yet, but will try to have them tomorrow.

11 carries for 68 yards and one touchdown. He led the team in rushing and his longest run was of 28 yards.

Hard to tell. Lacy is a very, very good back, but then so was Goode. Goode was more of an all-around back than Fowler, IMO...

Yeah, but Fowler won't quit. He goes a couple of yds. after contact.
Fowler doesn't have the speed of Goode, so he should be utilized North and South.
Goode wasn't as strong running in traffic as Fowler, but he could get around the end...
IMO: Lacy is a Bull... Now that 'Fumbulitis' has been cured, he's nearly as big a wepon as Trent Richardson. He's a very strong Second...
Next year we get Dee Hart... Can't wait for that one.

#1 UNA playing #2 Delta State tonight in Florence.

D. Goode has 92 yards on 17 carries and 2 TD's. He's really stepped up for the Lions lately, and he looked really good tonight on several runs.

BTW, 24-21 UNA up with 11 seconds left in the game, Delta has it 3rd and 3 from the UNA 21.

24-24 headed to OT. Maybe Goode will have a chance to top 100 yards.
