"In Principle"

If you agree to do something "in principle" and you don't do it...wouldn't that mean you don't have any? Better to detect a "Fraud" on the front end than later on, I'd say.

Re: "In Principle"

I'm in law school and just had my contracts final today. I was hoping we would get some type of sports analogy question, but the closest we got was a Borat question dealing with parol evidence.

RR claims that he never agreed to any kind of agreement but with all of the reports we have gotten and from what some of the mods have gotten from whatever sources. So did he lie?

Because all of the "reports" we've heard from supposedly reputable news sources have been accurate during this mess...

I don't think anyone really knows what went down.

I am glad he didn't take the job. Last week he was telling his state he was staying. Had he left, he would have lost the respect of WVA and Bama. No one here likes what fRAN did to us and I am glad he is not a fRAN Jr.

I wish him and WVA good luck.

watching coach richs news conference, he said that he nor his agent agreed in principle with alabama. then joe schaub of espn went on the air and said a west va booster appeared at the last hour and told him there was no way they would let him go, and offerred him a deal close to what the tide offerred. we succeeded again in boosting coaches pay scale. espn also stated that mal moore is really mad about this.

Re: "In Principle"

Who really knows what was agreed on? I think we should hold all judgement until we hear from the people directly involved.

Re: "In Principle"

This all points to his wife laying down the law saying

"If you go to Alabama, it will be without me"

Once again Alabam gets used. I have a suspiscion that Rod's attorney did agree in principle. The Alabama reps probably had a right to believe that Rod's attorneys had the authority to answer for Rod.

Thanks for the post and I totally agree. CRR did not make a liar of himself at all. Had CRR come to Bama, he would have the same to WVU that Fraud did to Bama. CRR stated in the radio interview that his plans were to stay at WVU and finish his career there. Listening to an offer and then turning it down does not make one a liar.

CRR ("Crud") had his attorney negotiate the terms of a contract with Alabama -- that doesn't sound like just "listening to an offer". And then, after Alabama faxed the contract to him Friday morning, Crud used it to get what he wanted out of WVU. Ultimately, sounds like both institutions were played.

Wow!!!!!!!!

"Mal Moore is really mad about this"!!!!!!!!!

Well, lets just give Mal a raise too.

Since when does performance count anymore????????????????

    :conf2: :conf2:

For the life of me, can't fathom that we allow the leaks yesterday unless we have a verbal agreement... with working out the deal in contract negotiation. His lawyer negotiats with MM the past 24 hours... when it's time to annouce, RR does... only it's for the wrong team. Call it what you want, but that's an idea that I have always referred to as "being used." And, as many have said, it may be a blessing in disguise... the FSU job comes open in the next year or so, we may have been in WVU's situation... and lost again.
