**Fall Practice Thread**

The interviews with CNS, Coach Smart and Nuss are on the Tidesports page.

Coach Smart has good things to say about Hubbard providing the pass rush we need. Says Dickson and Orr need to come along - DJ Pettway looking good.

Coach Nuss says this is "the best offensive line I've been around during my time in college football."

Pretty good interviews.

Great praise from Nussmeier and something we don't hear much from the coaching staff. I expect the OL to be as good as any in the country this year and one of the best we've ever had at Alabama.

I'm glad to hear the OL is better than his OL at Idaho as a player and the Michigan State, Fresno State, and Washington OL's he has worked with as a coach.

What happened to our "thud" method of keeping people from getting hurt?

Well, in fairness, it did end in a thud. ;)

Seriously, though, I think it was just a big hit with Anderson lowering the shoulder. No wrapping up or following through to the ground, just a big upper body-driven shot and I think Black actually got hurt when he hit the ground, not when he hit Anderson.

Since it appears to be hand or wrist, you're probably right...

Might as well mix up a batch now. Gonna start drinking it early. ;)

Thanks for the practice updates guys...I'm ready for football season!
I so want EL to have a good year, would love to see him get his time to shine this season, so I'm a bit deflated in the news he still may not be 100% by time the season gets here. Hoping for the best for him though either way.

We're in for a great year. If we don't kill ourselves first. We have talent coming out of everywhere. Can't wait! I just feel we don't get the respect we deserve. Practice looks tremendous.

Why do you feel we are respected fully??? We are ranked 2nd and most are projecting us to the national championship.

Doesn't get much better in my opinion

As long as we stay healthy...this year's team ought to wear down everyone on the schedule not named LSU. Just flat out wear em down with toughness and grit...

Coach wants to field a team no one wants to play. Well, this year's squad fits the bill IMO.

All I've seen is USC and LSU. I haven't seen but one predicted is to win it all.

Probably because its only happened a couple of times in modern day college football and never in the BCS era.

We're ranked #2, and I haven't heard anyone say we aren't one of the most talented teams in the country.
