Flyover

Did CBS show the National Guard flyover before the game? It was awesome. I've never seen a big tanker like that during one. Also, they were flying low; it looked as though it might hit the construction cranes.

I didn't know it was going to happen and it about made me have a heart attack, especially when I thought the jumbo was about to hit the cranes.

yeah, i bet that was neat, hearing what LOUD sounds like, since the band never plays loud enough to be heard.

Well, I hate to say it.. but LSU's band kind of outplayed the MDB. I have always had a problem with the band's "sound factor". You guys never play anything loud, except for that Green Day song that has been in circulation since 1999.

I about ****ed myself. I sit in the south endzone so I couldnt even see it coming. I just hear, then feel a roar and then a huge cargo plane and two jets are buzzing Bryant Denny. It really looked like the cargo plane was going to plow the cranes in the North Endzone. At first I thought it flew under them but then realized it just wasnt possible. At least some of you could see it coming. I was hit from the blind side. Imagine hearing and feeling a roar and then seeing a cargo plane and two jets what seemed like 50 feet above your head.

I totally agree. I think the MDB does a great job. This guy must have hearing problems as there are always lots of people clapping at the end. As for the other guy saying the LSU band was better, he must have been sitting on the row directly in front of them. No comparison; MDB ruled.

On a side note, these guys work very hard over the summer in the heat. They get no scholarships; they do it because they love the Tide. So take your venom and go spew it on the LSU or Auburn message boards. :eek2:

no is saying they don't work hard. But when the biggest applause for the MDB for the whole year, is planes flying over.... come on..

And LSU's pep band DID sound better than MDB, and their songs were more enjoyable, our own student section was really getting in to what they were playing.

That was awesome. Scared the crap out of me. I was sitting in the student section, and I thought they would come in from the construction so I was looking that way and then they flew right over my head. I jumped out of my seat.

I sat at the 5 yard line on the north end. It seriously freaked a lot of people around me out! I looked over at the girl next to me and she was literally bawling! Looking straight up at it, it looked like the cranes were going to be hit and come tumbling down on that end! It was really COOL though!!!!!
