Hurricane Irma......

Cause part of the US got decimated and people are playing it off like it wasn't all that bad.

Being thankful that the storm wasn't as powerful when it hit the U.S. isn't a spit on the people of those islands. It's certainly not worth your sarcasm.
The total population of both islands you listed is around 149,000
The populations of Tampa and Miami (not counting all the tiny communities in between) is over 800,000.

I shudder to think what would have happened if the same strength hurricane that hit those 2 islands hit these major metro areas and the rest of Florida. I can mourn the plight of those territories and still rejoice for those who made it through unscathed here on the mainland.

So my original statement stands: "I'm sure there are still those who have lost everything but I'd still consider it a bullet dodged for most folks."

we shut the office down at 1. winds are getting pretty feisty here. i've never seen it this windy in atlanta and i think we have a few hours of this in store. keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get any trees down, there were a couple already down across the road on the drive home.

All joking aside, be safe. Hope you guys don't have any problems.
