I just remember him tearing up Florida before that happened.I didn’t even want to type it. I still feel bad for him.
Seriously you may want to re read my post. 1) I only chose one play, and 2) I was actually saying that the COMMON ones are most likely going to be either the Kick Six, either Clemson Pick Play, or some particular play in one of the last 3 Auburn losses. I said I would choose one outside of those for the sake of parity,Seriously?!? He said one play...![]()
When did I say it didn't?The Kick Six cost us BIG time!

Its funny that two out three people got that out of reading my post. but anyways..Well, as 81 pointed out....it's kind of an "obvious" choice in some ways.
.
Personally I still stay the play makes the loss worse than actually losing to them. If we lose in overtime then probably very few people are actually referencing that game anymore. The problem, though, is that:
a) the game was tied, it's not like we were ahead
b) a non-returned field goal simply means overtime
c) the way we were playing, we would have lost anyway
d) even if we win - we had 2 more games to win to stake our claim
Yet you are the only one counting my response as having more than one....The OP said one play...![]()
Absolutely this one. One play cost him millions.Prothro...
Well, I'm not gonna put words in your mouth. I think I understood your intent. I'm actually surprised, though, it's not prominent at this point on this thread. Its funny that two out three people got that out of reading my post. but anyways..
Well, I'll give you a parallel - it's like all those people in ecstasy when the Giants knocked off the Patriots at the end of the 2007 season. Although the Tyree catch didn't win it, it gives everyone a moment they recall. Chris Davis, well, it's the same thing. We were a roadblock in the way of Ohio State, Auburn, and Missouri - and the moment that play happened, they were all back in the title chase. Plus, given we were chasing three in a row, it gives them a lot of satisfaction to see us beat on a play that was much "planning for the unexpected" as you'll ever see. It was beating Saban with the kind of play he usually would be smart enough to develop.Personally I still stay the play makes the loss worse than actually losing to them. You know, the Clemson loss (2016) didn't even "really" bother me from the standpoint of losing. We were on our heels the entire fourth quarter. It only hurt from the sense of - "this was the greatest team ever" by virtue of that insane defense. When they opted to go for it, I knew it was winner take all on the play. But it didn't even really hurt that much. When Stewart passed the ball on fourth down, I had close to the same feeling I had when Tua hit the winner.I still think the Clemson 2016 loss is probably the worst loss in the last 30 years. 2013 Auburn I felt we lost after they scored that game tying touchdown. Really I had a horrible feeling when they beat Georgia the way they did.
To me its like the Bill Buckner play or the Game 6 of the 85 WS. It ignored the context of the game. We didn't lose to Auburn because of a fluke play, we lost because we had our worst offensive coordinator since Rader handicapping one of our best quarterbacks and receivers of all time. I mean look at Cooper's stats vs Auburn.Well, I'll give you a parallel - it's like all those people in ecstasy when the Giants knocked off the Patriots at the end of the 2007 season. 1) Bill Buckner's error came after the game was tied (funny how few recall that); in fact, Bob Stanley would probably be the goat but for Bucker. To me its like the Bill Buckner play or the Game 6 of the 85 WS. If I were an LSU fan, I think the ending of the 2014 game would be worse. But I don’t remember where LSU was in the standings each year. We truly should have lost that ‘14 game.Screen to Yeldon. Just gotta be honest.
Well we are talking about a club that really believes itself a top ten organization and a team that for years laughed at its instate rival and ends up losing to them. A lot of bills to pay, but no one wanting to own up to them1) Bill Buckner's error came after the game was tied (funny how few recall that); in fact, Bob Stanley would probably be the goat but for Bucker.
2) Don Denkinger blew the call, but - as someone who watched that series when it was played - the Cardinals were VERY lucky to not be down 3 games to 0 entering game four.
All anyone seems to think is those cost the team the game. (But Hrbek pulling Gant off the bag with Justice coming up? Who cares!)
We weren’t going anywhere in 14. Already had 2 sec losses. In 12, we just had the one loss to UF and would have won the west and been in the NC conversation but for the Bama loss. I gave up on Les after that game because he absolutely played it ultra conservative at the end, choosing to run instead of letting Mettenberger pass to Landry or Beckham. If I were an LSU fan, I think the ending of the 2014 game would be worse. Thanks for sharing (even though I know that one hurt you).Screen to Yeldon. Just gotta be honest.
