Why? You don't know who did it, or why. There's obviously some shenanigans going on from Smith's end, how does he know Georgia has a scholarship available for him? Why would he expect Saban to waive the no transfer within conference rule? Why did he agree to go to Miami and then instead back out and go public with this?

You and I don't know what happened to his stuff and the idea that you demand an explanation from anyone is to believe Smith's version of events entirely. Didn't you already see a picture clearly showing him doing what he claimed he wasn't allowed to do? At this point he just deserves to be ignored, he's not credible.

It really is simple: Smart and Georgia won't let a kid follow their former HC to Miami, why is it a problem when Alabama won't let a kid follow his position coach and coordinator to Georgia?

It is a good question whether in the future players ought to have freedom of movement in transfers but the reality is that the conferences and NCAA have a lot of rules that prohibit such freedom of movement.

The real issue here is the "trashed locker" incident and I feel like Saban should have put that to bed in this press conference. It is a bad look and now everyone in the media will try to grief Saban into a bad precedent but fail because he's implacable.

I am not demanding anything, just stating that I would like to know ALL of the facts, BEFORE I form an opinion, unlike some that start ranting at the first post of an arrest/suspension/etc.. It is in the news, and only one side has been reported, and it looks bad for the team. I learned long ago that there are usually three sides to a situation like this--A's side, B's side, and what ACTUALLY happened. And I don't care who did it. And that picture was POSTED on 8/3/16...not necessarily taken on 8/3/16. You are entirely entitled to your opinion of the situation, and are entitled to question my comments, but not entitled to state what my intent is. Have a nice evening. RTR!!!

Bottom line is this. When an assistant leaves a school and takes the head coaching job at another school he should NOT try to recruit players from the previous school.

I don't know if Smart is 'crootin our guys but it is duplicitous to have a moral panic over Maurice getting blocked when Kirby did the same thing to a kid wanting to follow Richt to Miami.

Kirby needs to build his program with kids he recruits there fair and square not by poaching the university like he has already done with our coaching staff. Time for him stand on his own two feet and see if he can run his own program. I don't want Kirby to burn his bridge with the university and it's fan base because he could be a legitimate successor candidate in a few years but not if he keeps doing stuff like this.

I'm pretty certain I read that as a first step MS asked for and was granted a "Permission to Contact" or something along those lines. If that is accurate it solves the question of how he knew UGA had a spot. Also, it paints a different picture of Kirby, in that he wasn't recruiting MS, so much as MS inquiring.

Nobody knows if he's actively trying to poach him and if he is then he's not as ethical as you'd hope because he blocked a kid at UGA from doing the very same thing with Richt and Miami just a few months ago.

Bingo. He probably knows guys around the program to give him an idea of what their scholarship availability is this Fall but I doubt Kirby Smart has recruited him. If so, I imagine the SEC would be paying UGA a visit.

There is no need for you to get snippy with me like that.. Not the first time you've done this. It's annoying. I'm talking about Maurice's situation and how there is no resolve to this by now and I'm just ready for the situation to be over with.

Looks like he is from Center Point and was primarily a basketball player who graduated in 2010 where they played and lost against Wenonah in the state championship that year. At worst he looks like someone you could use on special teams.

I blame Kirby Smart for all of this. After all Nick did for him, he pulls this stunt. Not having our defense prepared for Clemson was evidently not enough.

I do hope this should have been in blue font cos I just think it's low to criticize Kirby for all he did at Alabama. He is now the head coach of Georgia and he is looking out for his team now.

I think all our players are aware that if they transfer (w/o graduating) after signing their letter of intent, they are not eligible to transfer to another SEC school. Nothing has changed. Find another school to transfer to.
