Does anyone know CNS's personal philosophy on how he handles the decision to go pro with a player? Is it as simple as if you're a guarenteed first-rounder then he advises the player to go? I'm sure with his success in turning out pros he has discussed this before.

I don't see it quite like you guys, Cody got hurt because he let up too early on a play, plus physically I believe he needs a year in our off season program to prepare his body for the MUCH longer and harder NFL season. Getting drafted is one thing, being successful in the NFL is entirely different. and I think he needs another year to be fully prepared. At this point however I believe an insurance policy would be in order by his family if he returned to Alabama. Normally lineman don't get knee injuries very often so the risk is probably minimal.

Plus guys, lets not forget that cody is still a kid in many ways, the NFL is no place for a kid. He needs to enjoy college life a little before he has to go into that brutal unforgiving environment.

I have to agree. Remember, he still sleeps on Spiderman sheets and is partial to those comic books (probably more pros do that than we know of - ). Also, he's mega-grateful for Saban's taking a chance on him, and he loves Bama and T-Town. However, Saban will advise him as to what's best for TC. Remember, he advises his assistants to apply for other jobs and coaches them on how to do interviews...

He has, and iirc he doesn't advise them at all - he simply has people who look at where the player will likely go draft-wise, presents the pro's and con's, and lets them decide.
