No ESPN or SEC Network on Spectrum (9/11 update: Settled)

I think Charter probably won this based on my reading. Sure, customers will get charged more,, but charter can say "hey, you get the Disney+ and ESPN+ services included in your package AND get the coming-soon ESPN direct-to-consumer version, as well." ESPN gets more money but they were fundamentally opposed to including the streaming for "free" ... so I think the score is Charter 50 Disney 49 Subscribers 1

What does T-Mobile use for internet? Just cell service to tower? Or can they co-opt fiber/cable like ATT/Comcast/WOW?
Not sure. The son and I needed the cellular plan as our only other option on a wired plan would have been the local phone company's DSL with slow speed.

I cancelled my 21 day free trial Subscription to Youtube TV. I then cancelled ESPN+. I checked with Spectrum before I cancelled. If I dropped Spectrum TV but kept Spectrum internet, my internet bill would go from $59.99 to $89.99 monthly effectively cancelling any potential savings from going to another cable provider while keeping Spectrum internet.

ESPN+ is garbage. With my Hulu, ESPN+, Disney+ bundle package, I couldn’t watch the game on ESPN. I had to find a streamer on Twitch sharing the game.

Even before the Disney/Spectrum spat you couldn't use ESPN+ for watching games that were shown on the broadcast channels. You could still stream those games from ESPN website but you were required to log in through your cable provider.

I thought YT TV was OK but too many button pushing to get where I wanted to go - same issue I've always had with streaming.

We'll see what happens......

Same. I’m grateful for the 21 days to get me by, but their user experience/UI is by far the worst I’ve ever dealt with from a streaming service. I’m glad it got settled

Smart here. I went with Sling to bridge the gap until the Disney/Spectrum spat could be settled. It wasn't bad and it may be my go to if this happens again. But a lot of button pushing, like YTTV

I think some are underestimating just how big of a win this is for consumers . The cable companies always win these battles , but this is huge when it comes to the availability of lesser packages . Genuine choice instead of no choice .
