Buzzard, Thanks for saying this!! I still don't understand, considering how terrible he has played, that DeBoer let him back on the team after he left for Iowa when Coach Saban retired.

With 4 million people living in Alabama, and for argument's sake, let's say 2 million are Tide fans, that's only $31.50 a person to arrive at $63 million for the buyout. I live in another state and would willingly contribute. What I have seen in 14 games leaves me nauseated and embarrassed.

We definitely seem to be more about flapping our gums and practicing end zone dances than about playing tough and making smart plays that win games. We are soft and make bad decisions that cause penalties and allow big plays. That's not a good combo.

When Scott and co celebrated the last TD I just shook my head. I was thinking youre STILL losing ... why celebrate like you're blowing these guys out? Get a couple of high fives in and get back to the sidelines lol

Under Shula, Alabama had players that were not as talented as today's roster (at least on paper), but many of them played with heart they cared about each other and about the University.
I'd like to think if I was the head coach and had a contract like CKD, I'd tell the players, "You are going to play with a sense of urgency or find somewhere else to mail it in like that. I might have to field a team of walk-ons, but they are going play hard and run like their helmets are on fire."

When we played physical, we won the battles ... but FSU beat us physically for a majority of the game. I was shocked at that play that no one tried to take his head off to stop him from scoring ... they literally gave him the TD.

The sad thing is our gameplay made it look like FSU are one of the top teams in the country and I still dont think they are even the top team in Florida. This us not taking anything from their win, because they earnded it. They will give some team fits for sure.

But I still cant keep forgetting the fact the QB said Saban wouldn't be there to save them. It wasn't an indictment on our players ... it was an indictment on our coaches. And from the look of things, we proved him to be correct for that game.

This is why I think if Demeco Ryans came back it would be great. He seemed to love Alabama. I don’t think he would ever leave the NFL to coach a college team but who knows.

New to the board, but I've read it for years. I'm a Buckeye fan (born and Raised there before moving down south 20 years ago). Bama is my second team.

I don't think Kalen Debacle was a good choice to replace a legend. We weren't physical enough against FSU. I can't remember a time when I felt that way. Last year was inconsistency, this year it's both inconsistency and lack of physical play. Are we capable? Absolutely. But this isn't the defunct Pac12 where physicality is optional. Alabama is and has always been the standard bearer of SEC football. Period.

I watched the Ohio State game yesterday. They look like to have championship potential. They were physical and disciplined, something that Alabama has had for 18 straight years prior to the this hire. I have always believed you can't change the spots on a leopard. Meaning what we have is what we're getting with this coach. But Ryan Day is evolving in to a great coach at this point. So perhaps I'm wrong. A $70 million buyout is a lot of money to waste. Who would we hire to replace him anyway? Perhaps Saban can hang around his office there and coach the coach. Ryan Day has a lot of great people that have helped him at Ohio State, but the team and the program are his. What is the solution? It's not a talent problem to me. It's a managerial problem.

What does everyone else think? I'm concerned enough to post.

I don't think Greg Byrne has done that bad a job as a whole, he did hire Nate Oats after all. I think he might have made the mistake of treating the Alabama football job like the basketball one. He could afford to take a shot on unproven at that level in basketball, but it was a much greater risk in football where the resources and expectation are both higher.

Mind you, he finds the next Nick Saban or Urban Myer he looks like a genius, but I think he might have overthought it a bit.The downside of going with a less proven coach is you might find the next Charlie Strong or Scott Frost. He took a big swing and the problem is he did it with the bases loaded.

We'll just have to see how this plays out though...

You can miss on a basketball hire at Alabama and be ok. You can’t miss on the football hire. He did hit a HR indeed with Oats. But he struck out badly on this hire. Hard swings at three straight pitches outside the strike zone badly.

As I sit here still mad about yesterday, I think I have come to the conclusion that I do not even want to watch this week’s game.

It’s not that we lost, but how we lost. I can handle a loss. If the game was well played, but FSU just pulled out a win, then fine. Tip my hat and move on.

After all the pre-season talk and hype from players and coaches, not just the media, the team we watched yesterday looked exactly like last year’s team. Nothing has changed (especially on D, how did Wommack keep his job?).

I’m not going to waste my time watching last year’s problems ruin another season.

It’s why I said last December they weren’t a playoff team and didn’t deserve to be included.

They don’t approach the game the right way or prepare the right way or play the right way.

I’ve said multiple times I’d rather go 6-6 or worse with less talented players that are well coached and play hard than this hot mess.

Now it’s also coming out that KD has the Hubris to think he can just outscheme other teams when all 5 of his losses have been him being out coached and out prepared.

We have soft prima-donnas all throughout the roster.

The guy who most people seem to think is our best and most irreplaceable player seems more concerned with coloring his hair and painting his fingernails than catching the damn ball.

I’m not wasting another second on this staff.

I feel bad for handful of players trying and god bless them and I hope they don’t get hurt because of everyone else’s lack of effort.

Good points and welcome, that was a solid win over UT yesterday. You all should be the team to beat going forward.

As for the coaching issue, I just assume they are allowing coach to set up his program and the identity of Bama football going for. For us as fans unfortunately we cant expect him to keep the sane system Saban used unless he personally uses that system prior. As of now, its the CKD show until the administration says different.

We as fans however can expect the same dedication, effort and focus to compete for championships. That was one of the reasons he was hired, so he and his staff need to figure out how to be consistently playing for championships and soon. Cause what we saw yesterday ain't it lol
