I've never called for him to be fired and I certainly won't now. I do think it's time for a staff over-haul though, give him a shot to address the issues. But, if he delivers another 4 loss season it's time to start considering options.Coach Bryant and Coach Saban changed their philosophies so it can be done. The question is do the coaches on this staff have the will to look inside and figure it out.
I'm willing to give them a shot.
I do agree with some others, though, that if the staff is not willing to change to make things better and we keep getting out physicaled by other teams when it counts then he may need to find a job elsewhere.
I'm all for giving a man a chance but if things don't continue to improve/staff not willing to make changes then there is a time to turn the lights out.
Some think it's an attitude/motivation issue, I still see it mainly as a philosophy issue. Even with Penix that team couldn't win a championship, it still had the built in flaw despite talent, experience and an elite QB.I honestly do not know what to think about this Jekyll and Hyde team. This coach. This staff. This program. No, CKD ain’t gonna magically fix all these issues. I’m seriously in doubt that he’s capable of building and motivating a championship caliber program in the SEC without the generational talented QB such as a Penix. There hasn’t been a complete game played at all this season and it seems there are seldom ever adjustments made to what the competition is doing. I’m never going to abandon my team but this sorta performance is really painful to watch and root for.
Roll Tide.
I think it's Jekyll and Hyde because that's what finesse teams look like. When it all syncs up and the offensive line protects the QB, the QB throws well, and the WRs catch the ball, this offense and this team looks fantastic! But how often have all three actually happened at the same time? A few games right? But when they WRs drop the ball, or the QB struggles, or the OL doesn't protect the QB, the entire thing falls apart because there's no redundancy built in. There is no plan B on this offense, it's pass, pass, and pass some more.
