It was apparent that CNS felt that Alabama had to play the best players to have a chance when he put in Haynes early. He showed that he is head and shoulders above the other RBs, though Jase did a nice job but he is not Haynes. Then when it looked like Bama got control of the game CNS went back to his “old reliablesâ€Â.
He is likely going to do that at the QB position next year. He has always done that. Sometimes there’s validity to it and many of his teams have provided a cushion to allow it, but it bit him today and may next year at QB.
IMO, most, if not all, coaches do this to some degree - some situations are almost impossible.
Haynes is big time.
