Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. UGA...

I’ve praised the Oline recently. Rewatching the game, what happened on this 2nd and 3 from the Georgia 18 ? The LT and LG pull right, and the RB runs left into defense, looses 6 yards

if it was a zone read, Jalen made the incorrect read. But I leave it was a called give. This set up a couple of Jalen keeps in 4th quarter

Believe or not, at least according to what I’ve read, Milroe isn’t given the “read option” on RPO/Zone Read plays. The give or keep is predetermined.
This is due to Milroe not running much option football in high school. He was more of drop back pocket passer, even though he was listed as a “dual threat QB”.
As Milroe continues his development, I’m sure he’ll be given more latitude in the option game.

Jalen Milroe has grown throughout the year, there is no doubt, but the development of the offensive line this year is probably the biggest difference in the team. KADYN Procter is a stud LT now! And the insertion of JAEDAN Roberts was pure genius, gave the Oline the nasty streak they needed in the mode of Warmack or Flukker . Roberts and Booker are the strength of the line, and they help cover the deficiencies of Seth in the middle.
Absolutely, 100% . Kudos to the staff. Jalen could not develop as he has if this hadn`t occurred. As much (or more ) responsible for where we are now.

He was hesitant to run all game until the end.

Georgia was so keyed on him that if he ran the fakes a little harder the backs would’ve had more room to work with.

As crazy as it sounds to say this, I think every contributor on this team is a better player than they were at the beginning of the season. I know that’s what coaches strive for, but how many actually achieve it?

Rees and Steele should split the Broyles award. So many question marks on this team to start the season, the sluggish early games, and yet here they are.

There’s a video going around of the Michigan teams reaction to having to play Alabama, it’s quite comical.

Rees is really looking like the guy I thought he would be at the beginning of the year. I guess some things just have to play themselves out.

I believe my documented man crush on Kevin Steele speaks for itself. lol

Rees figured out what he had to work with and began to play to Milroe’s strengths. Thats what good coaches do.
