Im not sure what you mean here. But i will bite.

In a weird way when you have high expectations and have achieved at a high level it its easier to see what needs fixing and many cases if you are adept the changes to make are easier to implement. If you are 8-4, 7-5 identifying what needs fixing gets a lot harder. Our 10-2 with our talent and structure is an 8-4 at another program.

Deficiencies have gone unaddressed or ignored to get what we got last night and that didnt just happen in fall camp. And calling that out is not wrong. It's warranted...

I'm really disappointed in our fans, and I'm not calling anyone out here, but in general...... I've read lot of comments that was hateful towards the players and coaches, and as a fan, I'm embarrassed. This is not how it should be....

No hate from me. I pointed out some issues but that's it. But I am with you! Some of the posts I have read are unbelievable.

but at what cost though? Is it warranted when a person targets specific player and call them all different kind of names that is unmentionable?

NIL/transfer portal is not THE issue, but it’s a significant one. You can out-recruit everyone, but players can leave whenever they want, wherever they want. You don’t have time to develop players anymore because your opponents can poach them every single year
Regardless, Alabama still has more blue chip players on the team than ANY other college, even considering the portal.

IOW, it's not a talent issue..

I’m assuming you are reading the bad comments about players and coaches on other message boards and venting your frustrations on this one. I have not read that kind of comments you are refuting too on this site yet.

I thought this last night. Milroe won the team and Coach had to let things play out. The game was an early season game and doesn’t effect the conference. It kind of felt like an “I told you so moment”.
It may also explain the “Make us play you” quote. To justify a change in the minds of the team someone needs to demonstrate that he’s clearly superior.

Agreed.

There is a distinct and important difference between criticism (valid or not - and much of it is valid) and some of what we are seeing.

Like I said all the talk was just talk. texas is just not this good, but we made them look like the best team in college football at times.
We’re snake bit historically by those clowns. Even when we’ve beaten them, the victories haven’t been satisfying.

Tidefans rules prohibit harsh criticism of players, and name-calling would almost certainly fall under that (depending on the nature of the comment) - since I've not seen this happen, please DM me links. We can't be everywhere at once.

To be clear, I wasn't talking about this board. That's part of why I posted here, because this is only place that does not tolerate that kind of behavior and I was making a statement in general. I'll send you a DM.

Okay, that makes more sense - I might be the only poster who ONLY comes to TF.com. The only other social media space where I see Bama stuff is Twitter.

Probably true but the heartburn at the moment, at least for me, is the development of said talent at key positions/groups. We were justified last season in B’Ob criticism. Now that lack of development is glaringly evident not only at QB but the coaches for the body guards around it.

Clean up two penalties and add 8 points to Bama's side of the scoreboard.

Take away two INTs and take away 10 points from the other side.

It's an 18 point swing, all on Alabama's mistakes (and Texas taking advantage - not trying to take anything away from them).

Don't get me wrong - I'm not making excuses or saying that Alabama almost or should have won or that fixing it will be easy.

But if everyone on the team does not put in the mental effort and toughness and discipline to clean it up then it's going to be a down year by Alabama standards.

But if they do put in the effort then things can be much better.

Same goes for the coaches as it does for the players.

Three weeks ago, I think a lot of us were very concerned about the QB position. I think it was the Sunday after our last scrimmage and it seemed like we were no closer to the answer as to who would be the QB. Well Milroe was the choice that was made for most of the MTSU game and the Texas game, but I don't think Saban was full of hot air when he said that the battle isn't over. Personally, I think a lot of us deep down thought we might lose this game if we couldn't get the QB issue settled. Obviously, there was a false sense of security that it was settled after last week.

Unfortunately, we lost last night, but everything is still in front of this team, and I really believe this is a team that will get better every week, particularly on the OL, but in order to do that we have to have consistent QB play. I'm not saying Milroe should just be discarded, but I think someone else needs an opportunity to prove themselves.

i am definitely disappointed as i was expecting to see a noticeable difference, especially in this early test and it wasn't there.

i'm interested to see how they (coaches and players both) respond to this.

I think if you substitute Bryce for Milroe we would have mopped the floor with them.

It’s true the OL and DL were terrible, but they were terrible last year.

Penalties were bad but they were worse last year.

The thing that was clearly better than last year was the receivers. And Bryce would have carved them up.
