Old Photos

I know the young'uns on here won't appreciate this but, Karen was a hottie back in those days. Wonder if she can still fit into that majorette outfit?

Still love the wishbone. You can look at Jacobs eyes, he is reading the DT.

Hey..I remember being a 21 year old student at "Down the Hatch" in 76, seeing Sela Ward on a date with Bob Baumhower, and thinking.."She'd like me better". :)

I think I was drinking Wild ....... the pilot run for Wild Turkey.

lol

I was there from 73-80 (two degrees).

Since you're still alive, I take it the stuff you were drinking wasn't strong enough to get you to go tell her that she'd like you better.

I don't have any old pix I took, but, later today, I'll try to scan some of the old Corolla pix from '57 and '58. There's a neat one of Cecil Hurt's dad, who played tackle/fullback...

A few months ago, my son spotted an ad on Craigslist, New Orleans, for 4 Corollas: 1958-1961. They belonged to the man's mother, who was deceased. They are in great shape. I got a bargain at the asking price of $20 for all four. No, I don't want my money back. :biggrin2:

I got out of the Army in the summer of 1975 and was in Tuscaloosa when Down the Hatch opened. I loved that place! Spent many a Happy Hour in there playing pinball. Rod Nelson was a fraternity brother of mine and football players used to show up at our parties. Saw Sela and Bob several times, Man she was beautiful up close!

Love the old photos. Any chance we can put a database of old photos on TideFans.com? I think a lot of people would contribute.

Also, didn't Bama play games in Mobile during the 60's? Anyone got photos?

Don't have any photos myself, but my first Bama game was in Mobile Ladd Stadium vs Tulane, 9-0, us in 1961. It's been a long time since we played at Ladd.

Would love an old photo database.
