Today on my way back home from servicing 2 of my monthly accounts I noticed through the rear window of the truck in front of me a familiar head silhouette. I mean a Cattle Dog's ears are unmistakable!

Also just the mannerisms of how the dog's head was moving around while seating in the front seat of the truck. You just know.

So I followed the truck until it finally reached it's destination because I wanted to confirm my suspicions and if possible meet the little Heeler.

The driver turned out to be a construction superintendent and he had pulled over at one of the houses he is overseeing - right on the Intracoastal too not far from my house. He was more than hospitable and willing to tell me all about his little "Blueberry". I won't go into all the details but "Blueberry" was awesome just like most Heelers are and I can't tell you how enjoyable it was for me to give him some belly rubs and skritches!

I've never seen one with one Blue eye like this.....very cool!

Maverick2.jpgI picked this little guy up a month or so ago. He was running down the middle of the street by some railroad tracks in an industrial area. I pulled over and he ran to my truck trying to get in. When I let him in and he immediately climbed up my arm and started licking my neck. He appeared to be around 8 weeks old so I just couldn't leave him there. I wish I could have kept him but already have 2 inside dogs and no fenced yard and this little guy is going to be big by the looks of his paws. I found him a good home and he is doing great. Supposedly new owners had him checked and he is lab/shepherd mix. I really wish I could have kept him...

He's got a lot of Labrador in him...should give him a great temperament. Thanks for saving his life...

My new pet, apparently. Took my F150 to Ford , came home and forgotto take my key off the ring. So I sat in the cold on the front porch waiting about an hour and a half for my wife. This little guy walks up to me, nudging me, licking me, tried to crawl in my lap. It was cute at first, then it became irritating so sat in my Fusion in the driveway. He wouldn’t leave. Walked around and around the car for Thirty minutes. Long story short, this is the next day and he is living in my back yard. We put corn out for him because he hasn’t eaten in 2 days. . My wife always feed the deer, we have a herd of four that have been in our woods, eating our corn for a few years now. but we fed him on a plastic container lid, he wouldn’t eat it. He looks to be about a hundred pounds, nine months old, a buck with small spikes. He has no fear of people, no fear of my rifle either. which is bad. If he doesn’t leave after today we will call DNR and have him removed. 3BC60474-3E67-4F6B-805F-4DE265129AE7.jpeg
