Remaining Recruits

Ridley just tweeted this message. His recruitment isn't over.

Very interesting

The wonderful world of recruiting. Can’t fault the kid, my daughter is going through the recruiting process right now (lacrosse) and it is quite stressful and confusing for her. Her best offers and her preferred schools don’t line up just right. It’s a tough decision for an 18-year old.

That's where the parents should help cause I know I didn't make good decisions when I was 18

Sometimes getting 18 year olds to listen is the hard part....my 18 year old stepson wont listen to anyone, because he is smarter than everyone else, is more experienced in todays world, and well is just knows more than just about anyone that has ever lived..... I mean, I have almost been 18, 3 times . LOL I have a Masters Degree, attended and obtained my degree from the Capstone, been in the Army for 24 years, I have raised other children, taken Soldiers in and out of combat, deployed to Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Qatar. I have met and worked directly with, and given advice to Sheiks, dignitaries, Generals, politicians, coached athletic teams, worked in a Boys and Girls club and traveled the World.....but I don't know a dang thing! So sometimes they just don't listen..... LOL

Thanks for your service and I totally understand but these parents don't have to sign.

Depends on their age, but you are right and they shouldn't sign if it is truly not the right decision, but people seem to work it out or work around those things sometimes. I believe Alex Collins' mother had issues with Arky....but they worked it out. Landon Collins' luckily had his father's approval and well being in mind..

Some notes from BOL...

OT Tramonda Moore is favoring Oklahoma right now but is taking an official to Alabama on January 22.

ATH Jack Jones will take an official to Alabama on January 15. Appears to be a difficult get since he's on the West Coast, though.

And some more from another piece...

DE Jeffery Simmons (Macon, MS) appears to be down to Alabama and Ole Miss. BOL was told his relationship with his position coach is very important, and he has a good one with Bo Davis.

BOL believes ATH Devin Asiasi is a real possibility in this class.

WR Tyler Vaughns (#1 WR in the nation) is taking an official on January 22. Currently a USC commit.

Bama looks to be in great shape for ATH Mecole Hardman, Jr. but not with Demetris Robertson.

Manny Diaz's departure from Starkville might have an impact on Florence High LB Erroll Thompson. Told BOL he would consider flipping to Alabama if Bama puts the pressure on him.

Well, if they visit, we`ve got a shot. I would think it`d be a tough pull for the Oklahoma kid, unfortunately.
Really interested in Simmons. Let`s see if his relationship with Bo or the " Grove Magic" wins out.

Thanks for the updates, Wide Receiver is really interesting right now we have T.J Simmons, Tyler Simmons and Diggs currently committed but I have seen any people state that Diggs will likely flip to Maryland. We feel pretty good about A.J. Brown, Gavin, and possibly Ridley??????. Now not looking good for Robertson who at one time was committed and we are still in on more Vaughns and any others???? Just seems really crazy, maybe headed towards slinging the rock a little more than normal.

Does seem like Bama is after several WRs this class. Look at the roster, though. Mullaney, Barrineau and Black are scholarship WRs that will not return. The WR depth chart is then down to 8 guys returning with two coming off injuries. Also, Raheem Falkins, Robert Foster, Cam Sims and Ardarius Stewart can all leave after next season if they like.

Appears the staff is looking ahead to prepare for departures if the talented WRs want to come to Alabama this signing class.

Very true I sure would like to see another RB in this class though and it does not appear we are in on many or any of those guys right now.

As RTR91 says, position of need, and as you point out, it's not like we're going to get all the names being thrown around right now.
