Don't know if this has been reported yet, but Sean Taylor died early this morning.

I got my sports update from CBSSportsline as soon as the word broke and it really broke my heart. He was shot in the leg but it hit his femoral artery and he lost too much blood. It looked like he might pull through late yesterday as he was responding to Doctors requests to squeeze their hand but I guess he just had too much damage...TERRIBLY SAD! Only 24 years old!

It is a tragic story and prayers for the family. I'll agree there is more to the story,twice in eight days and then breaks through the bedroom door and fired two shots? Hopefully the thug is caught and is thrown under the jail.

Taylor matured a lot in the past couple years from what I have read. Apparently someone broke into his house a few days earlier, went through some files and left a knife on his bed. The night he was shot he was sleeping in the same room as his child and his girlfriend, when she tried to call the police she found that the phone line was cut. Strange stuff. Catch the dude that did this and lock 'im up.

I'm sure we will be hearing more about this in the next few days. Breaking into his home a week earlier and leaving a knife on his bed, shades of something from the Godfather. Sounds as if he was a marked man.
Truly sad situation.

My prayers go out to the Taylor family!!! He was my favorite player in the league and was well on his way to becoming on of the best safeties of all time. Its just sad to see someone like that who matured and was getting his act together and lose his life to someone who apparently was coming for him.

This is the dominate story here in DC. The loss of the city's favorite, and the team's best, player is a blow to the gut. Last night there were positive reports, and it seemed like he was going to pull through. Then we wake up, and he is dead.

He matured a lot over the last couple of years. I think his baby daughter brought out the best in him. But, it appears he was being pursued by the thugs from his neighborhood. He had been shot at in his car and at his friends house. He had his house broken into before. It appears like the murderers finally caught up to him. No one believes this was a burglary gone wrong.

Such a sad waste of human life.
