The SEC got 14 in the tournament. Vandy doesn’t sponsor softball so Missouri is the only one missing out.

Pleasantly surprised with the 15 seed- although the thought of POSSIBLY heading to Norman the following weekend is daunting. VA Tech will be a challenge though- we split with them in the regular season. As has been stated here all year, at our best we are a top 10 team-at our worst we are not close to a top 25 team. All that said- can't wait!!!

During the selection show they pointed out that Alabama is a team "that can create chaos" (I take that to mean we are inconsistent) BUT mentioned our team batting average last year was 250 and this year 320-I think if we had HALF or even 1/3 the errors we have this year we'd be in the top 8.
Bu, we've been to OKC 4 of last 5 years so hoping the May Magic kicks in.

After two complete in T-Town, there is no score between BAMA and Jackson State. Riley is pitching and is doing a great job so far. Our bats need to wake up a bit. We've hit a couple hard, but right at people. Going to the top of the 3rd.

Riley starts the 3rd with a K. Fly out to RF, 2 down. Walk on what should have been strike 3. Bunt to 3rd, out a first. Inning over.

Bottom of 3rd: Preuitt - ground ball to the pitcher. It was a great grab, but she then threw it down the RF line. Preuitt ends up on 3rd. Vandagriff strikes out. 1 down. Johnson grounds out to SS, Preuitt stays at 3rd, 2 down. Heivilin grounds thru the hole at 3rd, Preuitt scores, Heivilin safe at first. 1-0 BAMA. Heivilin steals second. Giles goes yard to left - but it's just foul. Giles walks. 2 on for BAMA. Hawkins doubles to the left center gap, 2 score. Ellistad singles to right, Hawkins scores. Ellistad to second. Hubbard grounds out to 3rd, inning over. BAMA up 4-0 after 3 complete.

Preuitt singles up the middle. Preuitt steals second. Vandagriff grounds to SS, safe at first. Runners on the corners, 1 out. Johnson at the plate. Vandagriff takes second. Johnson grounds out up the middle, run scores. 5-0 BAMA, 2 down. Heivilin singles to left, Vandagriff scores, 6-0 BAMA. Pate runs for Heivilin. Pate steals second. Giles flies out to deep RF, inning over. 6-0 BAMA after 4 complete

Bottom of 5th: New pitcher for J-State. Hawkins hbp, 1 on. Pitcher messes up the pitch, Hawkins take 2nd. Another wild pitch, Hawkins takes 3rd. Jackson State changing pitchers. The pitcher that was in threw 3 pitches - one hit the batter, the next two were wild pitches. Ellestad flies out to CF, Hawkins scores, 7-0 BAMA. Fly out to RF. Pupillo pinch hitting for Duchsherer. Pupillo walks, hit by pitch on what would have been ball 4. Preuitt singles to CF, Pupillo stops at 2nd, 2 on, 2 out for BAMA. Vandagriff walks, bases loaded, 2 down. If we score, game will be over. White at the plate. Ball 1. Ball 2. Strike 1. Ball gets away from the catcher, Pupillo scores from 3rd. Ball game. BAMA wins 8-0.

Ladies Ds what they are supposed to do with the 4 seed. The game at 11 today is always the key to winning the regional- Win and get extra rest while loser has to fight through the bracket

BAMA vs VT: Briski pitching. Not sharp so far - back to back walks to start the game, and a 2-0 count on the third batter. Gets a K for out #1. Infield single to SS, bases loaded, 1 out. Bloop single to RF, VT takes 1-0 lead. Ground ball to first, we get the out at home. Bases still loaded, 2 down. Single to LF, VT scores 2 more. BAMA challenging the play at the plate, but I think we will lose the challenge. It was closer than I thought and BAMA wins the challenge. 2-0 VT going to the bottom of the 1st. Briski needs to sharpen up or she won't be in this game very long. She's getting behind in counts on every batter so far.

Lefty in the circle for VT. Vandagriff - weak single to 1st, 1 down. Johnson grounds out to the pitcher, 2 down. Heivilin walks. Giles grounds to SS, first baseman can't handle the throw. All safe. Hawkins flies out to right, no damage by BAMA. Still down 2-0.

Top of 2nd: ground ball to SS, bobbled, then bad throw, 1 on for VT. Sacrifice bunt, out at first, runner to second base, 1 down. Intentional walk of VT's big HR hitter. pop up to SS, 2 down. ground ball to third, step on base, out of the inning.

Bottom of 2nd: Ellestad singles up the middle. wild pitch, Ellestad to 2nd. Hubbard lines out to deep right. Ellestad should have tagged, but did not. Duchsherer strikes out on a wild pitch, they have to throw to first for the out. Ellestad doesn't stop at third and scores on that throw. Pop up to end the inning. VT now up 2-1.

Johnson lines out to second base. Heivilin goes yard to straight CF, 2 run dinger. BAMA now leads 3-2, 1 down. Giles grounds out to SS, 2 down. Hawkins strikes out to end the inning. BAMA up 3-2 after 3 complete.
