I haven’t heard him give a speech in four years. I had forgotten what a horrible speaker he is.

Florida may soon border the "Gulf of America."

One of President Donald Trump's first executive orders will be to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, according to news reports on Monday.

At a news conference at Mar-a-lago in January, Trump said the name change is "appropriate." "We're going to change (it), because we do most of the work there, and it's ours," he said.
Curse that dang map-making lobby!

"When I received the phone call, I started crying. I cried because I feel like Jesus wants me to do something Monday. I don't believe this is about me. I think this is about people that are hurting in Detroit," Sewell said.

He feels like Detroit has been forgotten and overlooked for a while, and that's who he wants to speak up for.

"It has nothing to do with Lorenzo. It has nothing to do with my church or my relationship with President Trump. It has everything to do with those who are voiceless. Now, they get a voice," Sewell said.

Sewell says his prayer will be for Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream to be fulfilled.

"For me, I believe that the most important thing we can proclaim and believe Jesus to proclaim over our great country is Dr. King's dream," Sewell said.

He wants Black Americans so see a part of that dream coming true on the stage Monday.

So Trump complains about history not being respected but he is complaining about the Spanish valuing Mexico more than Florida 400 years ago when naming the body of water.

President Donald Trump was at the Daytona 500 on Sunday as the Grand Marshal for the 62nd annual running of the Great American Race. Watch his arrival in Air Force One, his interview with Jamie Little, his laps around the track in "The Beast," his command to start the engines, and his message to the drivers and their crew chiefs in this full video of his time at Daytona International Speedway.

How much does it cost for the POTUS to attend a huge public event like this?

Between this and the Superb Owl it seems like a LOT of cash is being spent for... what, besides ego?
I saw this being discussed on Reddit a few weeks back before this year's SB and most agreed that it was excessive and being that Trump is filthy rich he should pay his own tab for stuff like this.

I guess it could lead to a debate on whether a President is attending an event as 'The President' or just 'a fan'.

There should maybe be some kind of soft rule that 'The President' is allowed to attend X number of events as an honor type of thing by attending and that anything outside of that is a civilian pay your own way type of thing.

Obama and Trump have probably abused this the most because they've both been to a good number of sports events at this point.

I remember W going to a lot of Rangers games but I can't remember if it was while he was in Office or not.

To your question I'm sure it costs a lot when you factor in security matters and I'm guessing you, me, and everyone else is paying for it.

I've read between $5 and $10 million for Daytona with an equal amount for the Super Bowl. Ego is clearly the reason.
I have little problem with a president taking time to relax from the world's most stressful job, but these trips seem like a waste of money.

Especially against the backdrop of austerity.

$10m is 100 years' salary at $100k/year - I agree that the stress of being POTUS means they need time away, but the optics here are terrible, imo. SMH

Denigrating a large swath of voters in this country - just because they vote differently than you - is one of the reasons he got elected. Please continue! :D

Have to disagree. I don't know of a single person who sits down with his family at dinner and they discuss how much was spent for the POTUS to attend the Daytona 500....or Super Bowl....and why it was a bad idea. The money could have been used better.

Instead the conversation is likely..."This is what the leader of a country looks like!"

Refreshing! :)
