Link: Tua discusses leaving early or staying.

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I assume, at the end of the day will decide to go.
However, some guys do stay, even when projected to go very high.
The Manning brothers, Matt Leinart.
Justin Herbert came back, he probably needed to stay and get better though.
Family financial situations will probably factor in.

IDK, i expect he will go, but there's a chance he stays and trys to finish on a high note.

I'm guessing this is about Tua? Cool...but Justin Herbert? Not buying a ticket if that cat's slinging it in my back yard...

Was listening to a podcast by Gary Harris today from yesterday I believe? And They were saying that there is going to be some pleasant surprises in terms of our Jrs staying around for next season. This isn't for darned certain of course, but they even mentioned that McMillon is looking good for another year as the case for another year has a good chance of being granted. Also said they "think" that Moses may return. Not sure if that belief is based on conversations or rumor..but it would sure be great to have LBs that know what to do.

FWIW, according to the ESPN draft guys Tua is still seen as the better QB than Burrow by NFL guys but the injury just makes it more complicated.

Tua has a freakish ability to see the field and throw receivers open. Burrow is talented, but in a more typical QB way. If Tua were not an injury risk, he would be considered the best QB prospect of his generation.

Burrow at this stage has shown to be the more durable quarterback and has shown enough that if I'm an owner I'd take him over Tua. Is Tua the more talented QB? Probably. But being more talented doesn't amount to a hill of beans on IR.

As difficult as it is to admit Burrow appears to be a superior draft prospect for the NFL with his height and running ability. Sort of a prototype QB for the NFL.

He also feels pressure and moves around effectively both within the pocket and outside of the pocket to avoid pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. While Tua also does those things, he does not throw the ball away when it becomes clear that the play is dead - Burrow does.

I don't think that Burrow is going to become a great NFL QB, but he is a safe pick and could be a steady performer for 10+ years.

Something's a "stewing" for sure. Again, I think it all hinges on Tua's decision especially for any of the offensive guys thinking about coming back. Moses may come back regardless of Tua's decision.

There is nothing more that I would like than to see Tua suited up in crimson next season but I truly fear for the guy getting hurt. In his basically only two full seasons he has played he has had two ankle surgeries and a hip surgery. What is next? Torn ACL surgery in a knee?

If he were to declare for the draft in January could he change his mind a couple months later if his healing hasn't progressed well enough and return to college? This question may have already been addressed but I can't recall if it has.

I don't think he can. IIRC correctly, there is a small window (1 week) in which someone can withdraw their name from consideration, but that's it.

I would love for Tua to come back but would like to make sure Bryce Young still signs and stays 3-4 years at Bama, since he is the future (at least we all think he is). Tua returning would probably affect Taulia's playing time if Mac stays and Bryce is as good as advertised. Also, if Tua leaves, will Taulia and family all move to where he is drafted? It will be an interesting next few months.

If Tua offers to come back, you take Tua back, no questions asked, and I don't care how it affects anyone else's playing time, period. I'm sorry -- I've been on the record to say if it were my son, I'd advise him to go ahead and enroll in the draft. But if Tua believes he has unfinished business here, if he has proper insurance, if his family's blessing is important to him and he has it, why would we NOT want him back? Because it affects someone's playing time? Oh my gosh... He's the most talented quarterback we've ever had. His presence alone makes us the favorite in the SEC West no matter what LSU or anyone else does. I just don't understand some people. I get the future, but my goodness. It's one season.

You took my post the wrong way ... I said I’d love to have Tua back. I do think he’s the best QB ever. I want what he wants. I just want Bryce to stay committed for the future. I think you over reacted to my post. I guess that is easy to do since we don’t know each other.

It's such a complicated issue for Tua. Yes I agree, if he came back I'd be thrilled and not too concerned about domino's in recruiting. As for the draft he will go in the 1st. Question is top bottom or middle. the difference in salary is significant. With this sort of injury I'm not even sure how advisable it is for him to play football next September. I could almost see a situation where he returns, but Mack Jones starts the USC game and Tua slowly works his way back, hopefully fully by time we play LSU. If he goes pro I expect them to more or less shelf him for the bulk of the 2020 season unless their regular starter went down.

It just sux that if he goes pro Auburn will have only faced him ONCE!!!! Best QB in my lifetime and those no good sheep herders face him one time.

The dude has been hurt. How much more hurt can he get? If he is easily hurt, getting small money for a brief stint in the NFL isn't going to set him for life. BUT -- if he can come back, stay healthy, and go top 5 in next year's draft -- all he needs is one 4 year deal and he's golden.

To go to the NFL -- "no matter what" may not be the smartest move for the guy. If he thinks UT and the Klangas hit hard -- just wait until he gets into the NFL. He's got to learn how to throw the ball away, or just take a knee....and live to fight another day. If he can do that.....he still can throw us to a NC....AND be in the Top 5 next year.
