UA/UF Postgame Thread...

Good news - maybe we drop to a 10 seed???

Wonder why we did not see more Randolph, Cooper, and even Engstrom for a minute or 2 on Young?? No Eblen at all either, even when Walker was blowing by and then picking his shooter to kick out to?

Also, why has Steele become a guy who will never shoot the 3?

I wondered about Steele not shooting the 3 as well. I know late in the season he has become very productive driving to the basket and he may have mentally locked in on that.

Turnovers by Bama and offensive rebounds by UF were the difference.

I'm talking about point differential. We out-shot them by such a large margin (percentage-wise). Had they missed just one three, the game goes to OT. Their ability to hit the 3 (and they shot a bucket load) was what made the difference in points.

Certainly, the turnovers were killer for BAMA.

Listening to the post-game PC CAG is about as upbeat after a loss as you could be. It's obvious he was pleased with the team's effort today. Hopefully this effort will be carried over to the tourney. It would be nice for a few more shots to fall as well... ;)

We get a week off to rest -- and perhaps we do drop a line to 10 -- that actually would be to our benefit for a Sweet 16 run......

I'm pretty upbeat too....they never quit...against a team that is a potential Sweet 16 team. Had TM not gone nuts during the year -- this is a game where he would have made a difference when we needed some offensive rebound help.

I'm happy about where we are. We are in -- have a week to get ready, rest, and get our mind ready!

ROLL TIDE!

Steele does not have a quick release and has never shot a lot of them, but when he first came back I think I remember that he would get one or 2 up a game??

Disappointing loss...I hoping for another shot at the Cats.
Oh well....new season starts now, maybe we can win 2 or 3 in the big dance.

I was pleased with the effort of our guys.

It's kind of like unforced mental errors in football. Make them, you lose.

Foul guys shooting three's in crunch time, guess what?

You learn in junior high basketball that if a guy is shooting an outside jumper you go straight up on defense, not at him.

Anyway, I think we deserve an NCAA bid. The overall body of work merits it in my opinion.

We may surprise a team or two because I truly believe the SEC overall is much stronger than it was last year and the year before.

I'll also say that Coach Grant, in my opinion, did an incredible coaching job when you truly look at the true skill levels of our players.

Pretty good players, REAL good basketball coach.

Hopefully, selection Sunday will be good to us. Fingers crossed.

Roll Tide Forever!

Proud of our guys for hanging tough. Young teams gotta learn how to win. When you're trying to claw your way back in a close game, you can't foul three point shooters back to back, or commit TO's without getting a shot back to back. Sometimes when you play good D and the other guys just make good shots, you just gotta give 'em credit. A couple of Florida's threes were tough shots...that they made. Bama basketball is light years ahead of where we were five years ago. Now it's on to the NCAA Tournament and see what we can do. RTR!!!

I'm still not happy with a moral victory.

Sad about Mitchell and his issues; his talent (with a good head) could have made a difference.

Part of what has made this year so frustrating for me.

Just imagine where Bama COULD be with both Green and Mitchell playing the entire year with good attitudes, and showing some leadership?? Green playing like he did today??

We would have won at SC, at LSU, at MSU, maybe at Ole Miss and Kentucky, maybe gotten Vandy and one or both of the Gator games. A 21-11 season might have been something like 25-7 or better..............

So true about TM and off reb. He would come up huge right now with everyone playing zone against us. Unfortunately he is a ME and not a WE!

But at this level, with spacing like UF's to make a strong contest you have to run and jump out at the guy. Not happy with those plays, but they were effort mistakes - a lot better than when we watched Ellington drive the lane in Columbia

I just got to watch the last 3 and a half minutes. They didn't give up and gave it everything they had. I hate a loss but I was proud of our guys. Roll Tide!

I'll call it a quality loss to a better(and much quicker) team. Coaching was about even but Bama went "boneheaded" for a couple of stretches. Hard to beat them and us at the same time.

We'd be such a great team if only we could shoot a few more 3s. Those late turnovers are what really killed it for us, though. Good effort by the team tonight nonetheless. Time for them to start getting ready for the NCAA tournament.

It hurt so bad I quit watching the game about the middle of the second half. The strain of getting shots to fall almost gave me a hernia. I just can't understand why we can't make a basket unless the player is standing directly under it. MY GOODNESS!

Good effort by the team- played hard until the end. It's hard to beat a team that hits 10 three's while you are only hitting 3. Combine that with the lack of any turnovers (total of 5 for the game-1 in the 2nd half) and it's a credit to the team that we had a shot to tie on the last shot. Green's foul on the 3 point attempt was huge, as well a couple of Lacey turnovers in the last few minutes. But Lacey also gave us a chance to win, too. I too think that this cold have been a much better season. If this team could just score 70 points per game- I think they might have had 5 losses tops. Just need one big time shooter- someone to hit 3 3's per game. Might have moved up to a 7 seed with a win today- but I am afraid we are stuck in the 8-9 game. Proud of the team for coming back.
