You need to hope that you don't have someone like this going after your program. There is dirt everywhere, and this guy isn't interested in proving anything. He is only interested in smear campaigns. Remember how easy it was for Fulmer to bring you down. He didn't need to prove anything. He just needed an idiots court and the media.Doesn't change Meyer's history. Doesn't change the fact that the only reason Smith got fired was because somebody outside the athletic department found out and he had to be fired.

I have already stated how I feel about Meyer. This hasn't been about Meyer for me for weeks. But you guys continue to support a guy who broke every rule in journalism in an attempt to bring down a man just because he doesn't like him. If you are okay wit that, so be it.
(Men, you're presumed guilty with this "impartial journalist").
Selma, you just described most of the media and most people. Good job, that is called hitting the nail on the head.
Both driven by hate. Neither interested in ethics. Close enough.Fulmer’s campaign to destroy Alabama is a lot different than Murphy’s reporting of Zach Smith.
I love the state of journalism todayBoth driven by hate. Neither interested in ethics. Close enough.

The stories can be different but if the motivations and methods are similar that's what makes them alike. I think that's what B1G is getting at.That’s rather simplistic, but doesn’t come close to either of the actual stories and how very different they are.

There was a lack of evidence, a spiteful whistleblower, and a media cordon waiting for headlines about a high profile program. Those do line up for both. The specifics do make them different, but in a lot of big ways they share some similar themes.
I'm sure Meyer is a little icky. I'm also quite sure there is a lot of BAD and RECKLESS "journalism" going on in this ordeal. I also believe it doesn't take all that much to sink a titan program like Bama, OSU, USC. I think all of these things can e true at once - it doesn't have to be just one.

...For the Urban Meyer case, this is about Urban Meyer’s ego more than anything else. Had he just said “no comment†then we aren’t here today. But he had to challenge McMurphy in public, and this is why we have had the goat circus these last few weeks.
