Hes staying... From what I heard, he'll get a raise.. that Georgia probably won't match. I wouldnt be suprised to see him gone next year though.

The thing is, you can build a house at one place... and it becomes a hit.. but when you move on and rebuild the house at other place, trying to duplicate the first house... It's harder than we think. I dont know if he can rebuild Georgia the way alabama is with limited resources...

Where would you see him going next year? Seems like if he was going anywhere he would go to UGA with good friend Kirby.

Re: Who replaces Scott Cochran

Cochran will leave when Coach Saban says he can leave...LOL

He can talk to Kirby on the phone, or he is loud enough, he can just yell to Kirby. Their families can visit each other whenever they see fit.....

So unless Kirby and Scott got married somewhere that I didn't read, why would Scott move to make less money, have lesser facilities, move family and kids (schools), leave his local business, leave his brand (yea, Yea, Yea) and all the notoriety with 3rd down, the 4th QTR and game day?

He would lose all of that at UGA. I doubt they would give him the love that Bama gives Scott with the job and the game day noise. LOL

I suspect the rumors of Cochran leaving is just an agents way to get him a raise.

Nothing wrong with working the system (unless you are the system). I think Cochran loves Tuscaloosa
, the program, the process, and has the ethics to not put his protégé at Ga. in a bind. Good by me any day.

Radio says that Cochran and Burns have to coach one more year in Alabama to be vested in state retirement.

Re: Who replaces Scott Cochran

UGA is known for dragging their feet in building new facilities. Mark Richt has been trying to get an indoor practice facility for 10 years and just got it this year! I don't know what their weight room looks like, but I do know ours is state of the art.
My guess is he will stay.

Re: Who replaces Scott Cochran

Rumor I heard is that the donors who were giving money toward the new practice facility / athletic facilities said they were gonna hold back their money unless Richt was fired. This may be old news, but it speaks volumes about who's running the show over there. It also tells me that their facilities are in need of an upgrade, which isn't really news either. I guess it is confirmation.

Scott Cochran Staying as Alabama Strength and Conditioning Coach

"I appreciate everything The University of Alabama has done for me and my family during our nine years here. It's a privilege and an honor to work at such a special place. What makes it so special are the people here and all of the fans who support the Crimson Tide. I'm just fired up to be a part of this program and helping to continue the success we've had. I'm grateful for the chance to work with our players each day, and that's what this is really about. Coach Saban has been great to us, and I want to thank him for all the opportunities he has given us. Roll Tide!"

I wonder how much 3 NC rings contributed to him staying. And I am sure he designed the weight room and those facilities. How long will it take UGA to do the same in Athens. I am glad he is staying.
