****Bama vs. The Barn - PostGame Thread****

I am just at a loss, looked like we weren't prepared, coaches had no answer and players acted as if they were looking ahead, well guess that was a mistake. Should have let the game go to OT.
I'm not so sure we could have stopped their run game in OT any better than we did during the game. My guess is Griffith has kicked some 55 plus FG's in practice and Saban was trying to end the game there instead of taking it to OT. This one might be tougher to swallow than the 2010 game because AU just isn't as good as that team was...and we're much better. Grrrr!!!!

I will NEVER claim the West if we don't go to Atlanta. We are not champions of ANYTHING after tonight.

I understand.
But the SEC and the NCAA record books actually do credit teams with Division Titles, even if the team doesn't to the conference championship game.

I was trying to find a silver lining in all this.

Yup..I agree 100% with ya..Griffith had to have made that kick in practice for Coach Saban to give him that shot& he simply didn't make it..

Him missing doesn't bother me--no matter how good a kicker you have, that's not a high-percentage kick. The fact that the entire team was caught flat-footed on the return, on the other hand....

I've taken about an hour to think about it.

This is the worst loss I've experienced as an Alabama fan. Just......man.....

I'm checking out for a while so I won't have to wallow in it.

I said the same thing earlier and I sat in person while Southern Miss shut us out and sadly watched in person while $cam brought them back against us. None of the two put together hurt like this one did.

I would love to see that happen as well, but, as long as Coach Saban is here..We will run this offense I have a feeling & I'm good with that seeing how it's won us 3 NC's..

I like the offense and want to keep it like it is. I just didn't like some of the decisions tonight, mainly the one with Drake not coming back in with a gimpy Yeldon. Yes Yeldon smoked them but Drake looked absolutely awesome in his 4 carries in that one drive tonight. Then he disappears and never even gets another chance.

If that was the case then why did he let Nuss call a draw the play before? Doesn't make sense.

Remind me how this works - do I pour the bleach into my eyes or just drink it ?

Just drink it bro and get it over with quickly. No sense in suffering anymore

I understand.

Yea I wasn't trying to be mean or anything and I knew what you were getting at. I just can't do it though after we looked like we did tonight.

our offense works wonderfully when we execute. tonight, we didn't.

I agree - Alabama has the most sophisticated offense in college football. You do EVERYTHING well. It just didn't work out tonight.

Watched Saban post game conference. He said that grif made 60 yders at practice and was just giving it a shot. He did say he's never coached a game that ended the way this one did.

I just jumped in and maybe you guys have already asked this. The 3rd down run by Yeldon before they stopped us on fourth down. I thought he got the first down and the refs marked the ball about a half yard back. Am I wrong?

Surprised there was no review.

Gosh, it is so easy to play the If game when you lose like this.

Well, all the anti-Bama and anti-SEC fans around the country are rejoicing. We made enough errors, between the penalties, missed assignments, fgs, and catches to lose any game. In spite of how poorly we played, we had several chances to put it away but didn't. Now we as fans must live with this outcome for a year. I said before the game, Auburn would have to play there best game of the year, and we would have to help them a lot...they did, and we did. As for Griffith's fg attempt....I'm pretty sure the chances of Griffith making a 57 yd. fg are better than a 40 yd. hail-mary...and the chances of a return for a td are even slimmer.

While our hopes for a three-peat are dashed, this old Bama fan is extremely appreciative to all the players and coaches that sacrifice a lot to put and keep Bama atop the football world. TY and RTR

That's a good point & it seemed like they weren't even thinking about that scenario at all..We had big, slow, Olineman that had no chance of catching that auburn player at all..
