Look, FSU is going to whine that it wasn’t the same team. Kannell has already said it, the whole fan base will beat the drum. I feel bad for SOME of the kids and I feel bad for Norvell. But the culture at the two schools is the huge difference here. The FSU program just took an epic beat down because their team QUIT in the face of adversity. UGA got beat, knocked out of the playoffs but played their bowl game like it meant something, playing for each other. FSU had their team dynamic changed horribly when Travis went down, held out of the playoffs and then just quit on their brothers because they were butthurt and chose to prepare for ME instead of the guy beside you in conditioning drills. So when FSU fans whine, remind them it’s their program’s culture that made it OK for the players that opted out to do so.

Except that wouldn't have mattered if they had WON, so it's a bad-faith argument.

Kannell has already said it,
Kanell also won a national title ring because his team that played a stronger schedule bypassed an unbeaten team thanks to the vote of a committee known as the AP poll vote.

the whole fan base will beat the drum.
But what would they say if they had WON?

I feel bad for SOME of the kids and I feel bad for Norvell.
I feel as bad for them as their ancestors felt for West Virginia getting hosed the same way, which is not at all. Alabama 1966 went on with their lives and blew the snot out of a good Nebraska team.

Part of it is now and not even an FSU thing.

But plenty of teams have had nothing to play for and won, too.

1966 Alabama
1982 Nebraska
1988 Miami
1990 Miami
1996 Nebraska
2003 USC (and it paid off)
2004 Auburn
2006 USC
2009 Florida
2010 TCU
2011 Oklahoma St
2019 Alabama (they were, in fact, better than OU)
2022 Alabama
2023 Georgia

I was in the majority of the posters here wanting GA to boatrace FSU. But listening to the announcers slobber all over the Dogs for beating the 5th ranked team as bad as bad as they did sent a message.

Oh don’t think UGAly won’t be hollering “should have picked us” if at any point one of the four happens to get blown out.

I'm amused by people like Nicole Auerbach saying that claiming FSU proved they didn't belong is a bad faith argument.

She IS sorta right.

Except how often did FSU boosters use the old "the ACC is 6-4 against the SEC" argument?????

Where were the journalists calling out this pile of dead whale on the beach waiting for Costanza the Marine Biologist to pull out the golf ball when it was ongoing?

A “Bad Faith” discussion is one in which one or both of the parties has a hidden, unrevealed agenda

so what she is describing is a good faith argument
