Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama v. WKU...

Just a question, watching SEC this morning , who is this Peter Burns guy and why did he take a shot at the Alabama fanbase saying Bama fans run to Finebaum whining that Bama is not getting enough respect. what a clown, using a wide brush painting an entire fanbase based on paid callers to an entertainment show. sorry for the rant, got that off my chest.

Just about everyone in my family are Barners., My son in law was watching on another tv here. He was going on and on about the their “explosive” offense.
I said “Pump your brakes. You do know that Alabama A&M is about the same as Arkansas-Pine Bluff? The team Arkansas led 49-0 at half, calling off the dogs and won 70-0 on Thursday night, right?”
It’s like people getting ridiculously enthusiastic watching Karmer beat up on 10 year olds in his karate class.

Reason I haven’t watched/listen to Finebaum in 20+ years. He and his minions are trolls that appeal to the lowest common denominators In fanbases.

Lots of outstanding scenery in both Oxford and Gainesville. Less of a fishbowl in Gainesville, plus better football recruiting territory.

If they pay him (UF is notoriously penny wise and pound foolish), I could see Kiffin moving.

Still, he’s always a 3-day bender away from a program-imploding scandal. Might come during the CFB playoffs (!). Might happen next summer. Might happen Homecoming week. But it’s a matter of when, not if, you have a godamighty mess on your hands.

Within the confines of football, he’s great. Set one toenail outside that, and he’s a national-level problem waiting to happen.
To be fair, Kiffin has changed so much. He stopped drinking. He's doing Yoga, and he's doing lot of different things. He's more Mature now than he was 2 years ago. He's continuing to grow up a bit each day.

But anyway, Watching the bama game this weekend, it answered lot of my questions, and I still have few questions remaining:

1) Has Milroe improved a lot since December? Yes. You can see him going through his progressions. But he's continuing to hold on to the ball tad little too long. But he's much better, so we'll have to take whatever we can get out of him.
2) Simpson: He's good. You can tell he's for real.
3) Secondary: O... M..... G. This is incredible talented backfield. You got two freshmen showing out and I think we'll be fine as long we don't expose them alone on island often. We'll have to hide them in coverage time to time.
4)WR: We'll be fine.

Questions remaining:
OL. I just don't know where we are. We need Proctor back to see how good we really are or issues still remain? I can't tell. The high snap is still a concern and I'm not sure how to fix that.

Coaching: there was some calls in the game on the both side of the ball that left me wondering, "Why are we calling that play?" I don't know if it's because of WKU and they're trying to keep things simple or what, but We won't know answers for weeks.

Overall: LSU has similar talented players like our and can-do same thing, but the difference is the coaching and disciplined players. Georgia will not be able to keep up with us. Bottom line: This should be a fun team to watch this season. We're going to break lot of records.

Red Morgan is talented, but he needs better technique or he will get a lot of PI’s . That can be coached.
WKU is not a running team, we need to know if this defense can hold up against a decent power running game.

The potential is there. He will be better before season is over.

I did not watch the game but I can read stats and 139 of Jalens 200 went to one player.

I've watched the game twice and both Simpson and Milroe showed good things and bad. Milroe showed improvement in staying in the pocket and going through progressions but still holds the ball too long. Simpson made an utterly dumb decision to throw a ball that never should have been thrown. One play he didn't step up in the pocket rather than bailing to the outside. IMO, Simpson still processes his reads faster and the ball comes out faster. Before the Milroe fan club goes nuts I'm not saying Simpson should have started, I'm saying one aspect of his game looked better than Milroes.

The stats can't be compared. By the time Simpson came in the score was ridiculously out of hand. So we weren't running or calling the offense with the same aggressiveness as we were in the first half.

Wisconsin and UGA will be the real test for our QB/QB's, offense and defense. The good thing is the QB position is in good hands. Both Milroe and Simpson can run the offense well enough to put us in a position to win. Clemson can't say that.

I think he's an LSU fan, so that should explain a lot. Both he and Chris Doering are crying over LSU and Florida losing. They sound like two scorned school girls sitting at home on prom night.

Did you see his sly grin after the PI? It's like he thought it was funny. I'm sure it probably embarrassment.
